Arrived Friday night for a birthday party of 8, no one in the restaurant, was told no booking we need to wait. Fair enough. So we sat outside in the cold. We then tried calling multiple times on Saturday where the restaurant would not pick up so we just left. Lady at counter was so rude. We explained we tried... More

Had a great day at Straddie yesterday that included return barge and a meal for two - we decided to eat at Stradbroke Island Hotel - we had fish and chips - the meal was just ok - the portion was fine but salad was drowned in dressing which made the chips and fish all soggy. My glass had pink... More

This is the only pub, something they take advantage of. Yes, the view is absolutely spectacular. Other than that it's just an average pub with average service and average meals. This place really makes the most of everything being on "island time". We attended a wedding there recently, and whilst the reception room looked great and the food was pretty... More

I realise this is one busy hotel but the menu is boring and the food very average. Overcooked schnitzels, boring salad and frozen deep fried chips. A roast option would be nice as would a few more upmarket dishes

After three days of camping and prior to leaving the island, my partner and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice pub lunch. Disappointed is an understatement! The chicken schnittie was so over cooked I couldn't cut it and the chips looked like they'd been reheated several times. My partners pizza looked great but the base was more like... More

Unbelievable views, forgettable food. Unfortunately nothing has changed here since our annual holiday last year. Staff are nice, but the food is incredibly poor. It makes me wonder who is in charge of getting something so badly wrong. Word of warning - don't get the chicken shnitty, chicken parmy or anything at all chicken unless you like to be sadly... Came here for an afternoon meal with a few adults and a few kids over long weekend. Some staff were rude and food was overpriced and poor quality.

The Straddie Hotel was a wasted opportunity to make a real Australian beach bar serving great food. Instead the restaurant and bar has the feel of an RSL, the food is overpriced and of average quality. Yet the location with sweeping ocean and beach views is one of the best in Australia. A great earner for the owners. A disappointment... More

We visit the pub every time we camp on Straddie. Parking is usually plentiful and the view from the pub is divine. Beers are cold, drinks are well priced and the food is pretty quick to deliver from ordering. The food is not cheap and on a public holiday they charge 15% surcharge which is ok due to paying staff... More

Bar staff very friendly. Service was fast for food however while the meal of steak chips and salad was a little expensive for the standard, the steak looked like the bit that you normally chop for a casserole rather than a steak. Chips not crispy and salad was very boring, with little or no dressing. Overall disappointing considering the views... More
