Just a query about your opening hours - we dined at Dovetails restaurant on Saturday night for a work function. Then we planned for all 13 of us to have an Ungermann Brothers ice -cream for dessert after. (the shop is right next door). (We...had checked the opening hours. Saturdays - open till 10pm). So we were all very disappointed, when we arrived at 9.20pm to find the store closed. The lady inside said, sorry, but we had to close early tonight......(she was cleaning up). No sign on the door, or information on the website. We could have ordered a dessert at the restaurant had we known. We wanted to support local business. Please change your closing times if you intent closing early regularly. Your ice creams are great, just a shame, we couldn't all have one on this occasion.More

The decor of this ice-cream parlour is impressive and most enticing with its delightful refreshing retro feel with an unusual array of icecream flavours to match. Before we made our final choice of icecream we sampled a few of the range, the likes of blue...cheese with fig, lavender with honeycomb and lemon, honey and thyme. Pricing seemed a little steep paying $7 for a single serve ($10 for a double) but that is the price of this local experience. We enjoyed our cold treats although I found the iceceam a little too sweet for my liking. To avoid the need for registering to sit in/out of the parlour under the current COVID19 restrictions we made our way to the side of the building and sat in the very pleasant shady Memorial Gardens. Paid street parking is available as well as limited free on-site parking.More

After dinner we decided to go try some icecream at ungermann marina mirage, we picked salted caramel with chocolate and chips and liquorice with fennel. First problem was getting the attention of staff in th back of the shop (not the staffs fault as only...one working) a bell or something is needed rather than having to call out to get attention. Now the icecream, salted caramel I couldn't taste anything, no salt or caramel. It didn't taste bad it just had NO taste. I've had 15 cent icecream which were far better, the liquorice one at least had some flavour. Now I Iove liquorice it's a favorite of mine, but the flavour in this failed. I made a few months ago at home liquorice ice cream not using an machine very basic recipe, it wasn't great and I wouldn't make that recipe again, but ut was better than ungermanns. Closing time was advertised as 9pm and we got there around 7, shortly after ordering we thought the shop was closing, but it was the staff going on there break. I wouldn't be happy driving to go here to find it closed, not blaming the staff its a management failure. Hopefully the other flavours are better, but I wouldn't drive here again when I can buy better at the supermarket.More

Wow stumbled on this little beauty out of the way ice cream bar. Such unusual flavours, we tried lavender, liquorice, blue cheese and caramel. They were all a hit have never tasted flavours like it before.

We expected to find the Ice-cream Parlour, but what we also found was a trendy, hip little area of Ipswich. Very unexpected. The ice-cream was ok. It was disappointing to find out the flavours we went for were either not available in that store, or...sold out. It would take something great to sway this girl from Gelato and this just didn't shape upMore

The flavour combinations are very original. Just jump in and try them. I had Dutch Spices and it was just like a rich fruit cake without the fruit. Yum.
