Friday night visit. A + salad bar. Both my wife and I had steaks come out cold regular plates. After waiting awhile, I finally took my plate and walked back to kitchen to get someones attention. Same steak was brought back out barely luke warm....1 bite then in a go box. Will heat up in the microwave at home.More
Where do we begin?! The moment we stepped into this lovely steakhouse, we were quickly greeted by the multitalented hostess and bartender Tammy. Her bright smile immediately made us feel welcome to this hidden gem. We were seated in a cozy booth with no wait....Wendy, our lovely waitress, was quick to take our drink orders. Her recommendations for drinks, appetizers and main course was spot on. The Cheddar Cheese Poppers were so perfect. The neat and clean salad bar was fully stocked with all the bounty of the harvest. The mixed drinks were perfectly made. The tender of tenderness steaks were delivered sizzling on hot plates. Perfectly seasoned! The accompanying baked potatoes were delicious. Wendy was quick to make sure that our water glasses never reached half empty and made sure we needed nothing. The only complaint is that we had no room left to try their delicious desserts. When leaving, all of the staff including the kitchen chefs waved to us goodbye and a wish for us to return. We greatly appreciate this wonderful steakhouse and the staff for making us feel welcome. Not only was the food great, but the staff exhibited the very best of Southern hospitality. We ate at several restaurants while staying in Roxboro for over a week, and this one would be first on my list to visit again.
Really great food. Had salmon with a wonderful glaze on it. Pleasant atmosphere, and our waitress was the epitome of Southern hospitality. Wish we had had the opportunity to dine there again, but wouldn't miss it if I return to Roxboro.
Orders the shrimp jammers for an appetizer and the whole group loved them. Then I ordered the scallops with sauteed mushrooms. The salad bar came with it of course. The fried scallops were fixed just right, not too much batter and plenty of them. Couldn't...even finish my mushrooms or the hushpuppies.More
A couple of my cousins and I ate dinner here on a Saturday evening. One of my cousins treated me to dinner for my birthday. It's something fun we do to celebrate on our birthdays. We ordered shrimp and a petite filet. My shrimp was...cold boiled with seafood cocktail sauce. I asked our waitress if their seafood cocktail sauce was made in-house and her answer was 'yes'. The cousin who also ordered shrimp, requested hers broiled in butter. Our shrimp was good and I didn't hear any complaints about the filet. I also had a baked potato as my side item. A complimentary trip to the salad bar with our entrees was also good. I'm not a fan of sardines (which stink) being offered at the salad bar, but I guess that's just me. ;-) Our waitress did an outstanding job as she was waiting on several tables, one of which had a large party.More
This is a main stay family owned Steak Restaurant that is absolutely Delicious! Best steak in the area! Bets salad bar in the area also! Have eating here for many many years! Great service, food !!
Our family visited on August 23, 2019. Steaks were tough and had no taste whatsoever. Salad bar was great.
My two friends and I had dinner here on Friday night. The steaks are so good. I always try to eat there when I’m in the area. I have friends just over the line in VA. My favorite ribeye and prime rib within 50 miles. Consistently good steak. Thee salad bar is awesome and could be a meal all by itself.
This was my first and last dinner at Old Country Club Steak House. My husband wanted to take me out for a nice dinner. He googled this restaurant and based on the reviews, he chose this restaurant. When we arrived, there were 2 young ladies...standing at hostess station. Neither acknowledged that we were present. We were the only people waiting to be seated. After a good 5 minutes another young lady came by and asked how many , and proceeded to seat us. Another young lady came and took our order and told us to help ourselves to salad bar. I ordered prime rib; my husband got a rib-eye. My prime rib was tough and chewy. I took 2 bites and decided for the price, it was not a quality piece of beef..I told the waitress it was not good. She was apologetic and took the prime rib back. I tasted of my husband's rib-eye and it tasted like lighter fluid. He did not complain; yet he did not eat but a few bites before deciding to get a "take out box". Our bill was almost 50.00. How so?? Oh, I was charged 9,99 for my salad that preceded the meal that I was not able to enjoy. We never saw a manager or anyone in management to inquire about our less than desirable meal or to address our complaint. Needless to say that we were very disappointed with our dining experience at Old Country Club Steak House in Roxboro, N.C.More
One of the best steak houses I have eaten at The steaks are cooked to perfection, the salad bar is out of this world. They have block cheese at the end of the bar. . I highly recommend this establishment.
We had a semi large group do to dinner. The steaks were extremely tender and tasty. They did not add seasoning, so a little salt and pepper added to the flavor. The salad bar was small but good. We we in a separate room which...was a little small/crowded for the number of people we had, but we managed. I will plan on returning to another meal.More
Salad bar alone worth the trip - but save room for a steak that is always cooked to perfection. Service is always friendly and quick.
Never any issues here. Steaks are always cooked & served perfectly on a charcoal grill. Great selections on the salad bar. We've been going for years and will continue.
