Loved my burger with fried green tomatoes on it. We needed something to eat and didn't want any fast food along the highway. Would definitely recommemd. Excellent service.

The food and service was good, we will return, on our next trip to the area. Just a neat place to eat.

The diner was right near our hotel and recommended by reception. We walked in a half hour before closing and never felt rushed. I has the burger special, which was a great diner burger. My dining companion had the pimento cheese grilled cheese sandwich and loved it! The waitresses were all friendly and fast. And the pies and cakes under... More

Stayed at the candle wood suites and walked over for breakfast. Very nice looking diner. As soon as we walked in there was a bad odor. Most likely from the floors. Besides the odor thof food was very good and the portions were large. The service was quick and friendly.

Every time I go to Rocky Mount, I make a point of stopping at the Highway Diner. It's exactly what you expect it to be---no more, no less. The staff is warm and friendly, the food is fresh and well-prepared---and you get A LOT for your money---which is certainly refreshing in these days and times. Conveniently located off Route #64... Whether you want a quick burger or full meal this place has a menu that will please anyone. Just like the retro atmoshpere the prices seem like they are from years ago. All single digit pricing. Found this place on... More

Nice servers! Low country style chili was delicious. Had great veggies like collards, sweet potatoes, green beans. Not fancy just good.

I ate at the diner four times on a recent week-long business trip to the area. I had three breakfasts, and one dinner. Staff was mostly good. Three of my meals, my waiter/waitress treated me like an old friend, even taking time to chat briefly and give me advice on meal choice. The fourth time, I felt more like I... More

My brother and new wife were visiting and I wanted them to have the best breakfast in town. Highway Diner of course! Great service and best home fries around. One of my favorite breakfast spots.
