Don't let the old strip mall and worn out parking lot keep you away. Chew-n-Chat is clean with great southern hospitality. My son and I like to go on Saturday mornings to get breakfast. Pancakes, eggs over medium, grits, hash browns, etc. You name it and they have it.

Love this pace ...over Golden Corral any day. They serve turkey sausage. That's a major plus for me. Breakfast bowl is good.

Low on atmosphere... high on taste and value. Locals fill the place so you need to get there early or late (closes at 2:00p). Friday is "fish day" place is always packed on Fridays. We've eaten breakfast and lunch there and have always enjoyed the meal. Servers are polite, efficient, and attentive.... if you have been there a couple of... More

We wanted to find someplace a little different to share lunch with friends we had not seen in a while. This is a great place to do just that. the sandwiches were very good, the 'Up Town' salad enormous and all delicious. Everything is fresh. Service is on the spot. It is a small infancy but cozy place without a... More

This place blew all of my expectations. This menu is phenomenal with creative twists on both southern dishes and current trends in the restaurant biz. The pricing was good and portion size is perfect for a take home leftover box, which is just as good later! Highly recommend for lunch.

Breakfast was excellent. Place is clean and the staff is very friendly. If you like a nice, hearty country breakfast this is the place for you.

We had burgers, they were a little too well done, but had a good flavor, I'm sure they would have corrected but we opted to let it go. They looked hand made (not frozen boxed stuff) and they were BIG! We were the last of the lunch crowd so I'll blame the dry burgers on that and next time try... More

Ate here with my family while traveling. I figured a locally owned restaurant would be more likely to be able to accommodate my food allergies (celiac, dairy-free and onion-free). Plus, they advertise that they have "soul food" so that had me. Sure enough, after I placed my order with the server, the owner came out to double check my needs.... More

Chew and Chat has an excellent fish fry to include shrimp and oysters...we would say the best oysters we have ever eaten lately. Arrive at the restaurant by 5 p.m. because the oysters go fast once the place fills up. The restaurant is smaller than most, but the place has a real "homey" atmosphere. Bon appetite! Hope to go there... More
