We stopped here for dinner following a bike trip. Food was good and the prices were reasonable. Service was attentive and professional. Our meals came quickly. We were interested in an outdoor dining environment due to the pandemic. Although they also had indoor seating which...we declined, we were easily seated on their large porch, socially distanced from the other diners. It was very comfortable. Although we did not need it the evening we were there, they have porch heaters for chillier weather. lf stopping in this area, I would recommend a meal here.More

We had a mixed experience here. We were staying at the nearby River and Twine complex and this was the nicest dining option in Rocky Mount Mills. The food was good and priced reasonably but the service was unusual. We wandered over just right after...they opened on a Thursday afternoon and asked to be seated outside. Our server was a very pleasant young lady but would occasionally pull her mask down to talk to us. She brought our drinks and said she forgot our coasters. She comes back with napkins -- yes, those were the coasters. She offered my wife a sample of their cider on tap and then it took a long time to get that (she blamed the bartender). We enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip (the chips were very colorful) and I enjoyed my jambalaya -- duck leg was great, wresting with crawfish, not so much. So to summarize: food was good, atmosphere was decent, but service was less than ideal. Tip: we tried to call to make reservations but they told us it was first-come, first-served.More

Cheese burger was good but chicken sandwich was better. Ate outside very nice. Great Service and just love setting on front porch. Nice menu. Great bourbon selection. The mill area is a gem. We will be back

We were driving from Florida back home to CT.. we lost steam in NC so I googled restaurants near our location and ended up at Tap 1918. Very nice atmosphere, the paintings in the room where we sat were wonderful ! Our waitress Savannah was...brimming w/ southern hospitality and made sure we were well taken care of. Hubby got the “Reuben nachos” which sound weird but he said they were delicious! Toasted rye bread pieces covered in pastrami, cheese, sauerkraut and dressing. Savannah told us she’d never heard of a Reuben before they added this to the menu but she liked it too! Funny how in NY/CT Reubens are everywhere! I had the cheddar burger and it was delish. Savannah brought me some Black Garlic Ranch to dip my fries in. Bottle that up and you’ll make a fortune! YUM! Thanks for a nice meal after a long day of driving!More

Lou of Tap@1918, god bless him is trying real hard, but there's only so much one can do. This is a fun place to have some beers, the selection of craft brews is AMAZING. The cocktails are GREAT! BUt the food is a real disappointment....Go, hang out, take the kids, it is super fun! Great location, great times, super ambiance. Just remember, the food will taste like paper.More

We dropped into Rocky Mount on the way back to Raleigh from Sylvan bird sanctuary (Also worth a visit). First of all the revitalized Rocky Mount Mills area is relatively new and all restaurants / bars seem excellent. We chose Tap1918 for a decent pint...and simple bar food. However, everything was much more than that. A gastropub is certainly Is. The Scotch eggs were the best I’ve ever had, a terrific burger , French dip and cheese board was equally superb. Strawberry cheese cake was enormous and delicious. Beer selection is about 20 total draft, many local but mostly microbrewed. I’ll definitely go back.More

A perfect spot for a craft brew or single malts. Apps are delicious and plentiful for sharing. Fast, friendly, and helpful staff. Awesome facility right in the middle of the Mill Campus

I drive up and down the east coast a lot and Rocky Mount, NC is a gas stop. This trip, I was forced to spend the night so I looked around for a place to eat. Tap popped up as a restaurant near me so...I went to the web site and looked at the dinner menu. The bill of fare was creative and local to the region so it looked like a good bet. Tap is in a free standing building on the grounds of a gentrified Power Mill, now defunct but hosting, among other things, a lot of micro breweries. I think it was the Personnel Office originally. Very subdued, cool vibe, nice bar, some sports on TV but no too intrusive. I had BBQ Broccoli with Korean BBQ sauce and a Charcuterie Plate of cheeses, salami, pickles, and honey(!). Plus, I drank a 16 oz. glass of a local dark ale. The food was great, as was the ambiance. The service was ever so slightly disorganized compared to a successful chain restaurant which isn't Tap's niche, but not so distracting to take away from what they're trying to do there. A curious note would be this was on a Friday night at 8 PM and Tap was slightly over half full. That made it pleasant for me, but I don't get it. The total package Tap offers to the consumer warrants more recognition than what they're getting now. Go to Tap. You will have a Good Meal and a Great Time. It was a wonderful discovery for meMore

The food was exceptional,as always. The only thing I didn't like and will ask for different the next time we go is seating. We were in the back of the restuarant with only one window and the only thing you could see was the three air...conditioners and a privacy hedge. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and the ball game was on and the t.v. was on so loud you couldn't hear the person next to you.The next time we go I will ask for a bar table or sit outside on the porch. But as far as the food goes, we have been there three times and have not had a bad meal yet.More

Group of 25, we waited forever for drinks. 2 waitresses assigned but each could only handle their half of table. They would have sold 30 more drinks with better service. Beer is very good. Food is too eclectic for a group. Most people ordered burger...or steak because food was too unfamiliar or odd combination for them. Several people would have ordered grits except it was with duck.More
