David's Restaurant is one of those great local restaurants that make a trip. My wife and I recently were traveling to Carolina Beach, and had the occasion to have dinner at this great local spot. -We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Roanoke Rapids, and asked the folks at the hotel if they could recommend a place to eat.... My wife and I came here for dinner on a Friday night which is “seafood night”. The specials are the regular menu items at slightly reduced prices with a few additional seafood entrees. The menu doesn’t give you a choice of sides or what comes with your dinner. As the menu indicates, you will get your entrée with a salad... More

Extremely friendly and prompt service. Food was quite good, especially for a small town restaurant. I don't think most people would be disappointed. I suspect the negative reviews were written by people who would never be satisfied, or, perhaps David's just had a bad night. That happens.

My wife and I have eaten at David's 3 times and look forward to more. The restaurant is less than 10 minutes from I-95 and yet is light-years away from the chain restaurants perched right at the exists. The staff and decore have probably changed little in the last 30 years, which is all to our pleasure. The menu is... More

My husband had the recommended Rockfish. It was cooked beyond well, rock hard! I had lamb chops. They were tough. My husband told the owner our concerns and he seemed unconcerned. Don't think they will survive.

Enjoyed a chef's special, consisting of crabmeat stuffed flounder (large serving by any standard), boiled shrimp served cold, fried oysters, a baked potato, and a salad with house made blue cheese dressing. Wife had chicken piccata with salad and pasta. Very satisfying. Our server, Michelle, made our dinner very enjoyable by her welcoming and friendly manner, accompanied by a thorough... More

This is the 2nd time (2014 and 2016) that we've dined at David's Restaurant and each time it has been a pleasure. Good service, good food, good wine, good prices, and we were there last Friday night when "live" music produced an excellent saxophonist. My husband and I shared an appetizer of Cajun-fried oysters....the best we've ever had! He had... More

Loved the music and the friendliness of staff. Food was pretty good, not my favorite, but I'm a real foodie. It was probably the most intimate, romantic restaurant in town though. Loved the pictures and feel as if you were a guest in someone's home. Overall we enjoyed our visit/meal! Thank you!

I would suggest arriving early as by the time we left seats were hard to find. The food was good. Our server was much too busy with too many table to cover but we were not in a rush so it didn't matter much. It is good to see that some restaurants of this type still exist. It was a... More
