May God Bless America and the Ole Time Barbecue. This is America at its best. While some folks at my hotel called it a "hole in the wall" BBQ restaurant, I call it wonderful. My NC BBQ sandwitch was chopped pork. Cole Slaw on top with great BBQ Beans. Loved the home sauce. I sat at the counter (also had... More

I've eaten a devil of a lot of NC style BBQ and fried chicken at a lot of places in lots of towns but this was hands down some of the best I've ever eaten. Come hungry cause you're gonna want to eat your weight in que and chicken.

Loved this place. All by itself on the roadside - small with 12-15 tables. Very unassuming from the road - bright yellow at night! We arrived close to closing time on a Saturday night and didn't feel rushed at all. Very good ribs and barbeque, amazing homemade collards and coleslaw. Couldn't have asked for a better place to grab a... More

BLOWN AWAY by the service!! The food is flat out delicious. They put a lot of love into all their meats but I love their chicken and pastry. That dish is not over spiced and they leave it to you to kick up the flavor the way you like it. I even swiped some of my wife's chopped BBQ and... More

Never thought to stop at this restaurant but my son raved about it. My daughter and I are becoming regulars. Love the barbecue. Sweet potato fries are great and love their cole slaw. Everyone is always very friendly.

Had lunch here today, and it was really good. My husband got a large chopped barbeque plate with sweet potatoe fries, hush puppies, and cole slaw, while I had hush puppies and a bowl of chicken pastry{chicken and dumplings}.Everything was really flavorful, well prepared and served quickly. The barbeque was well seasoned and was not overly sauced. The fries were piping... More

I'm very particular about my BBQ. I'm from Johnston County and I have my favorite local spots, but I don't go for the BBQ chains. I'm even a fan of Smithfield's Chicken N BBQ if I want a good BBQ sandwich with slaw. Well, Ole Time is the best spot for BBQ in Raleigh. Jerry Hart is a great guy,... More

Wanted to stop in after they had to rebuild part of the restaurant after a vehicle ran into one corner and made a mess of the place. They were closed for at least 4 or 5 weeks. Ordered barbecue sandwiches & hush puppies to take home. Same friendly servers and outstanding barbecue as ever. A true North Carolina barbecue "joint".

If your not a fan of finely chopped pork, skip it. It was tasty, I'm just saying this if you are more of a pulled pork kind of person you may find this to be way to chopped, like a hash or mush. The hot Bbq sauce made it all better though. Sweet potato fries were good. My hubbys ribs... More
