We lucked out had a group of 5 and went right to a table! Server very helpful - we all ordered different items... We loved them all . Ham, sausage, bacon all tasty. Did look at the pancakes but they were so big! Biscuits tasty and came home with several.

We were in Raleigh for a Union Political Convention and we googled restaurants nearby that served breakfast and we found Big Eds. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean but folks you better bring an appetite cause if you leave there hungry something is wrong. Big portion of great food and unbelievable low prices, This is... More

We heard about this place from someone else. I also heard about the pancake challenge. If you can eat three pancakes in 45 minutes, you get a t-shirt. I started to order it and the waitress talked me out of it. I was glad she did. The food was all down home southern cooking. The service was top notch and... More

Seated immediately on a Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Great service with a smile and southern hospitality. Our table had the french toast, pancake, applesauce and western omelet and it was all delicious! Biscuits were yummy and came out first. Being a northern girl I asked what Fatback was. Oh boy. The lovely waitress brought me a few strips to... More

If you enjoy "country cooking" this is the place for you! Fast, hot, delicious, lots of it! Plan to come early for breakfast or lunch. There is a continuous line. Can be s bit noisy. Packed parking.

Reasonably priced southern breakfast in an eclectic atmosphere. Very busy restaurant (and actually quite noisy!) with great food. Go hungry because the servings are large and very tasty!

Big Ed's is great! It was hard to pick between Very good and excellent. This is the place to go to get good southern comfort food. Their lunch meal offerings are many and some choices rotate by the day. Always plenty of choices with high quality ingredients. Biscuits and hushpuppies abound! Big Ed's now has two locations in Raleigh to... More

I love this place, and I born in the Midwest. Harkens back to a time when morning breakfast was a social event when you join neighbors to have a friendly breakfast - a throwback to another era. Staff is friendly and very attentive. Food is casual but, according to my native Southern friends, authentic. Service is fast. but no push... More

This was my first visit after a day of partying. This food was everything. Taste great and sits in your stomach as if grandma made it. The pancake was bigger than the plate and it was dense. Be prepared to have the itis. Our waitress was fun and friendly. I will definitely go back. Their hours are funky and it... More
