Caffe Luna is a more upscale Italian restaurant in Raleigh with a great selection that includes some standards (veal parm, ravioli and lasagna) but also a wide variety of less traditional dishes. Everything was well prepared. We were a party of 7 and everyone ordered something different and all was delicious. The service was attentive without being overbearing. And the... More

I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years and it is my favorite Italian in the area. The wine list is very reasonably priced and doesn't have a large markup. The Tortelli Crostacci is my favorite and my wife's favorite is the Fiocchi. You won't find better hand made Italian.

We went there for restaurant week, so we had what was on the $ 20.00 menu, a Gorgonzola salad, it was fine but only had olive oil for a dressing, then the Alfredo, good but too salty for my taste, then cheesecake, very good, light and delicate taste. For $ 20.00 a good deal. I probably wouldn't pay more for... More

Had a lovely dinner here last night at our first visit to this restaurant. Didn't want the usual heavy Italian dinners often found in the US after visiting Tuscany last year. This menu and reviews looked promising so we decided to try it. I had the smoked salmon appetizer followed by the Tortelli Crostaccii, tortellini stuffed with seafood in a... More

Recently ate dinner her with a business associate of mine. Upon entering the owner came over and struck up a conversation with my friend. He suggested a few menu selections and poured a glass of Pinot Grigio for us to taste. The entire experience, atmosphere, food, and drink were really nice. Will definitely be back again.

Our friends suggested this restaurant as one of their favorites. It's a lovely space on the corner, across from a park, with old pressed tin ceilings and lots of character. I enjoyed my Fantasia di Mare - fresh black taglierini with grouper and diced shrimp sauté in garlic & oil with tomato. It's a colorful dish; the pasta gets it's... More

Okay, so I just want to say very clearly that there are two items that even the "best" chefs or cooks can screw up and frequently do. Ironically, both are screwed up in identical fashions ~ under cooked and slimy or overcooked and rubbery... 1.Large Scallops and 2.Calamari. Today, I dined at one of our favorite restaurants in Raleigh, Caffe... More

The menu is small but the dishes were amazing!! Both were fish dishes and the fish was amazingly fresh and cooked perfectly. They even had gluten options which is not always the case in an Italian Restaurant. The Tiramisu was unbelievable!! The best Tiramisu we've had in the U.S. actually. We lived in Europe and we always ate Tiramisu at... More

I will not return to Caffe Luna. Ever. At the beginning of our meal the wait staff asked me to remove my hat. She said that the owner was "old-fashioned" and that he would be much more "mean" about it than she would. I don't think she meant to be aggressive, or understood how this can come off, so after...
