Hayes Barton is hands down our favorite last minute date night spot in Raleigh. It is a very small restaurant, so not ideal for large groups, but everything on the menu is delicious. The best menu item is seasonal and served typically June to September...More

We had only visited during dinner and had to be told to get a menu and stand in line to place your order. You can’t see the dessert counter until you are placing your order due to the line of people in front of it....More

We love going to Hayes Barton Dessertery! The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is quaint and delicious. The pork lines are super yummy. Don’t forget to save room for one of the super gigantic pieces of cake. peanut butter fudge is our favorite!

I used to go here as a kid for cherry cokes. As I got older I would go here for the chicken salad sandwiches. I know the same lady isn't making the chicken salad but whoever is making it now must be using the same...More

I guess spotty is how I would describe it. My wife went once and loved it but today she was dissatisfied. The burger was just Okay, the fries were good but my soup was not just warm. great 1940s photos on the wall.

The food was great. I had the chicken pot pie. It was very good but had mashed potatoes in the middle. It was very good but more like a shepherds pie in my opinion but still very good. The deserts look amazing but I had...More

Growing up in the South, I had heard of tomato pie and fried green tomatoes, but never had tried either one. The wonderful thing about summer in NC is the availability of heirloom tomatoes. We were dining a Hayes Barton Cafe and Frank's Heirloom Tomato...More

I sincerely doubt they have gluten free items. This is a very old fifties style place, kinda mom and pop. It's really nostalgic for many people... old movie star photos on the walls, vinyl booths and seating... Delicious.
