Bangkok Thai is a small Thai restaurant in North Raleigh near Wakefield. I ate lunch here and they have lunch specials at $9.55 and $10.55 depending on what meat you order.
The lunch entree comes with a good choice of 6 or 7 different sides including salad, several different kinds of Thai soups and other choices. I ordered Chicken with mixed vegetables and it was really good. My only complaint is they used too much sauce which is very salty.
The salad is unusual because it comes with peanut dressing instead of ginger dressing. The dressing is a little spicy but quite good.
Service was fine and staff was friendly. While they do give you lunch size portions their lunch specials are a great deal.

Without a doubt some of the best Pad Thai in Raleigh! Do yourself a favor and try it when you’re in the mood for Thai. They’ve become my go to.

Small restaurant - very clean - consistently good food at lunch. Hard to choose between the lunch entrees. Thanks Paul C for the update on pricing - I'll make sure to check my bill a little closer. I appreciate the frequent diner card. More people are discovering this little restaurant as it gets very crowded at lunch. Everything is very clean - it's hard to pick out the restaurant as it is in a strip mall next to the Food Lion.

We have enjoyed the food at Bangkok Thai for several years. Always been delicious, fresh, very flavorful, and ample quality and quantity of ingredients. Picked up dinner for 2 last night and was very disappointed--Mixed Vegetables with Chicken: medium spicy and Pineapple Fried Rice: mild spice. I was told the dishes would be ready within 25-30 minutes. I live in North Raleigh so I left to pick up as soon as I called in the order. I received a text saying my order was ready for pickup within less than 10 minutes, before I even left my neighborhood. So there certainly was not much preparation required for either. Neither dish had much flavor at all, much less any spiciness at all in the mixed vegetable dish. The pineapple fried rice had shrimp and chicken but only 4 very small chunks of pineapple and only a very few small thin strips of onion--mostly just flavorless rice. We were extremely disappointed in a carryout meal of only two individual dishes that cost $38.00 and will not be going back.

Take caution and only pay cash at this place! We had a dinner and I used a credit card I only use for food and had not used for months. Within days of letting the server take the card, I began getting fraudulent charges from a Asian designer clothes company. I contacted the restaurant and they would not return my emails or calls.
The food is good, but you may be paying much more through fraudulent charges on your credit card.

This restaurant is a small Thai Cafe that seats about 40 in a strip shopping center near Wakefield.
Their lunch specials are great. For $8.55 you get you choice of an entree and one of 8 or 9 appetizers including several soup choices, salad or chicken satay among others. Also included is a drink! This is a great value! Dinner prices are higher and do not include an appetizer or a drink but portions are larger.
This is a Thai run restaurant also with Thai waitresses who are friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing.
Highly recommended for the value and most of all the food is delicious.

Be careful! They do not honor their online menu prices! I ordered two dish. When I picked up, both price were higher them their menu online. I showed them the price. Obviously they didn’t care and told me the online menu didn’t updated. So I had to pay the higher price. I don’t think it was right and honest business doesn’t do that.

The food and the service is wonderful. The spice is perfect in the Yellow Curry with Chicken. The kids love the chicken satay with rice. Everyone that works here has been so nice every time we eat in the restaurant, or order take out.

After hearing rave reviews, we were treated to dinner here by our family. The sweet and sour chicken was the best I've ever experienced! Others enjoyed pineapple fried rice with chicken, simple fried rice, and pad woon sen (glass noodles with veggies). The bowl of edamame to start was delicious. Service was excellent and ambiance intimate and cozy. We look forward to returning!

Very small restaurant that fills quickly for lunch and for dinner. We do take-out quite frequently. A few weeks ago the restaurant was full and there were 7 of us picking up take-out. Their good food has attracted a following. Green curry was great but the Red curry was even better, nice and spicy

Pleasant venue, pleasant staff and good tasting food...but not authentic heat as you get in Bangkok. I had the Drunken Noodle dish and my sweetie had Yellow Curry (more like a soup with rice). We sat at the entrance to the kitchen so we saw all the dishes being served...and it all looked good.

Eaten at this Thai restaurant several times and the food is always excellent, and the service always very good.
It is a great value at lunch because for either 8 or 9 dollars depending on meat selected, you get an entree, a drink and a choice of an appetizer. There are about 6-7 appetizers to choose from.
The restaurant while not fancy has a flower at each table (see pics). It is small but seating is comfortable and not jammed together.
One of the better Thai restaurants in the Raleigh area.

Pad thai the best I've ever had, yummy thai tea and they have a loyalty card. Grwt lunch special and they have a special for dinner for a party of two. Hard to beat!

I love Bangkok Thai!! I visit at least twice a month. My favorites are the Simple Fried Rice w/Chicken, Crispy Veggie Rolls, Calamari and the Tom Yum Soup!!! They have amazingly priced lunch and dinner specials!! The food is fresh with great portions, the atmosphere is cozy and the staff is very pleasant.

Quick lunch special only $8 we each had small salad (peanut based dressing to delicious ) then the meal itself was great and you can pick your spice level if you like it mild to very hot. This is real Thai food and we will be coming back.
