I was quite disappointed to find out La Volta was closed. They had pretty good itialian food and the restaurant was actually a cool space to eat. It used to be a bank and if you had a large party you could get the Vault table. They had a table/room set up in the old bank vault.

This restaurant has been closed since Spring of 2015, if not before then. Its successor in the same space, Twisted Mango, closed at the end of December 2015.

Lack of professionalism. I won't be back. The amount of people at the bar was sparse to say the lease, yet and still my friend was left sitting there until he decided to acknowledge her. AND he verbal acknowledge he was ignoring me when I was trying to get his attention. So much for southern charm and hospitality. Perhaps others... More

Fairly good Italian food but I wouldn't make a special trip to downtown Raleigh to eat here. We went as part of a 25-30 person group and they tried to sit us too tightly packed for comfort even though the rest of the restaurant was at best 1/4 full. As a result our service suffered and the servers made a... More

A friend and I dined here on the Friday evening before Christmas. We had 5:30pm reservations as we had tickets to see "The Nutcracker" at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. I was a bit nervous about having time to enjoy our meal before the show, which at 7p.m. Our food arrived quickly after our order and it was delicious. I had ordered... More

Usually eat here when in town staying at the Sheraton. It is supposed to open back up in February. Hopefully it will be open when we come back next year. Good food and close to the hotel.

Surprised to see other relatively underwhelming reviews.I have been downtown for dinner many times and although right in the thick of things never spotted this place. Dropped in on New Years Eve (busiest night of the year) and although the place was reservations only they found room for us at a table in the bar area. Hostess and staff were... More

Service was slow, crowds were heavy, took 15 minutes to be seated for our reservation and another 15 minutes for wait staff to take a drink order. 3 of the 4 entrees were underseasoned and oversauced and pastas were mushy. Had heard good things about the place so we may try once more...

We popped in here after the Raleigh Christmas Parade, it was nice, clean, and nice staff. It was a little too nice to bring the kids. It was filled with families but there was no kids menu and lots of glass. My food was decent nothing spectacular, just average. I had the meatball pizza roll and tortellini soup, my husband... More

I was there with a group as part of a conference in October 2014. The food and service were very good. We were given a semi-private room which was perfect for the discussion. The pasta was delicious!
