Ordered a lamb biryani. Was surprised that the cost has gone up. For $19, I got a dish and a small cup of Yogurt. Food is good but the price seems to be going up more than norm. Will move to Azitra now
I see loads of less than great reviews of Zayka, but I have eaten here about once every 6-8 weeks for lunch and it has ranged from to good to really good. The only complaint we have had was the lunch naan, which has been...solved with a new bread chef.
This review was for dinner we had tonight. They have recently overhauled the decor and updated the menu, and it is much better interior for this type of restaurant. The meal and service we had was probably better than any Indian restaurant meal we have had in Raleigh area. That is on a basis of over 40 meals. We ordered the dal Bukhara, paneer makhani, chicken Achari, Raina, and naan. Each main was excellently flavored and at the right medium spice we requested.More
This is probably the worst Indian food i have had in recent past across USA!
I am not sure how others have experienced differently or how this place survives serving such low quality.
Me and my wife had to leave most of the re-heated food...on the table.
It's not even worth my time to elaborate.
Do not waste your money if you know or want to know what Indian food tastes like.More
A member of our former work team was familiar with this Indian Cuisine Restaurant, so he decided on this place in Brier Creek for our quarterly get-together. The evening before I had perused their website but somehow missed the fact that Zayka features a weekday...buffet. That instantly solidified my food selection.
The buffet turned out to be decent and maybe a bit cheaper than those of other Indian restaurants.
The buffet was not as diversified as others I have partaken of. However, it was attractive and well maintained, with sufficient variety to make it worthwhile.
I should point out to those who are not fond of the taste of tikka but are a member of a group who is: Zayka's buffet includes the fixings for a fresh tossed salad--lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and other veggies. So, have at it.
I have been to Indian buffets that have offered more variety. However, if I happen to find myself hungry in Brier Creek with no particular venue in mind, I would certainly consider returning to Zayka.More
We were here for my birthday lunch and got there at 2.00 pm. They were not that busy but the main server was slow to bring us the naans, they did not replenish the foods. The buffet compared to Indian buffets in moorsville is not...large in presenting a variety nor is the staff too concerned about providing that extra friendly touch.More
On Mothers Day, my daughter took me here. They had a buffet 12-3:00. We went at 2:00pm.
On a positive note, there was great music playing the whole meal and a delightful aromatic spice smell to the ambience.
The buffet was so disappointing. The dishes...that were supposed to have chicken and lamb in them were depleted of meat. You had to scrape the pan to find any chicken or goat/ lamb in the sauces. What I retrieved on my plate for the lamb/ goat dish was full of bones and joint gristle. The fried vegetables were old, tough and dried out. The rice was dried out. We could hardly eat our 15$ lunch buffet.
I suspect they put the buffet out at opening and never replenished it. To be a Sunday buffet on Mother’s Day, we were not only grossed out but I was pretty mad at my 30$ check. I will never go again.More
Best Authentic Indian food out there. We have hosted many parties at Zayka and they have always came out better every time. This is our go to place every time we need catering or go out for nice Indian meal. Ask for Masala Papad next...time you are there...More
My colleagues and I visited this restaurant today for lunch. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was professional and took our drink order right away. The buffet was not as extensive as I had hoped, but the food was great.
We are new to the area and were looking for an Indian restaurant to try. We had an appt near this restaurant that ended right at 11 so we visited for lunch. Service was quiet and respectful. Buffet was pretty amazing. My husband is a...meat freak and there was no lack of it, expectedly mostly chicken, but many versions and all very good. The funny part was when both of us went back for a dish that was actually tofu but with a delicious sauce. Only complaint was that maybe the pakoras were a little dry. The nan was served hot to your table and not ruined on the steam table. There have not been many reviews lately for this place and there have been some lackluster ones that are not recent. I say go! We will be going back!More
