Great place to visit with friends. If PR was close to the football stadium, it would remind me of Clemson's Esso Club, it had that kind of really cool vibe. The food was excellent to boot!

I owe the PR and have been to a number of NCSU vs Clemson footballs games in Clemson and have always ended up at the ESSO. Comparing us to the ESSO is a huge compliment. Thank you and come back soon. Gus Gusler

Not a bad bar- nothing fancy. Decent burgers and fresh cut fries. Someplace to go if you just want no frills - decent beer menu.

Great place to watch World Series games with a raucous local crowd and good beer list. Think twice about the corn chips and sausage gravy - you'll hate yourself in the morning.

This place has a lot of character. They have been in business since the early 50's. I enjoy the vibe at this old school sports bar. Tv's up top, collector beer steins below that, and whiskey bottles of every type below that. On the back...More

You can tell this is local because it's not too fancy, or upgraded, or hipster. The bar runs the length of the main room, with small booths lining the wall. A separate area is also a dining room. Service is spot on, with a great...More

My wife and I went in seeking a dicey sports bar to watch a baseball game. They had the game we wanted and put it on a screen where we could see it. The staff was friendly enough and the drinks were cheap. However, it...More

In 1951, Bernie and Mickey Hanula founded the institution known as the Players Retreat. Less or a bar and restaurant, and more of a family. With menu options for every appetite, the PR remains a popular respite for the young and the old, the rich and the poor.
