About
Ask any Italian-American what ‘gravy’ is, and they'll tell you it's the pasta sauce that their mothers and grandmothers cooked fresh every night. At Gravy Restaurant we take the same care, preparing our signature sauce every day using select tomatoes and locally grown herbs. The heart and soul poured into the preparation of traditional Italian-American dishes pairs with inspired modern twists and a focus on seasonal ingredients to define Gravy’s unique approach to this classic cuisine.

My husband and I went to dinner at Gravy’s. Tables were spaced out and they had a very nice outdoor patio. We went for restaurant week. We had the risotto balls for appetizer, chicken parmigiana and for dessert we split tarimisu and cannoli. We ordered...a bottle of Chianti and was so surprised to see the wine was from a winery we stayed in Italy 4 yrs ago. Rona was a fantastic server and very professional. We will definitely return and strongly recommend to everyone. Thank you for a memorable evening.More

Gravy is incredible. The meatballs are the best ever. I recently learned that they offer take and bake for meat lasagna, veggie lasagna and chicken parm. I love heating up these amazing dishes at home and giving the impression that I actually made these gourmet...meals myself. We have been doing a lot of take out during the pandemic and Gravy has been in the regular rotation, much to the delight of my family. In fact, my typical process is getting take out from Siti, and take and bake from Gravy. My family is guaranteed two delicious meals in a row. And, I get to feel like a hero. The service is great. Their safety protocols are exceptional.More

Had a reservation to celebrate Valentine's day, actually on 2/13. Arrived on time for my reservation, and we were ushered to a table at the front of the restaurant, where the door was open, and the cold air of a 35 degree afternoon would be...more than we could stand. We asked for a different table ( the restaurant was not full and several other tables were available) and we were told that those tables were for other reservations. (So, they would put us at the front in the cold, but others who had not arrived yet would get the better tables.) It is often reported that African Americans are seated at the worst tables in restaurants-- I guess I should not be surprised they attempted to do this again. My wife and I promptly left the restaurant, and found another restaurant to dine in that evening.More

I went here with my boyfriend before my immediate family arrive the next day for a wedding we were attending in town. IT was so delicious and the service was so phenomenal, we came back the night of the wedding to enjoy it again with...the whole family. The staff was even more friendly - if that's possible - the second time around. The food was delicious and the restaurant stays packed, so do yourself a favor and book a reservation!More

Service was fine but the french fries were too greasy and my friend's chips weren't tasty. I paid the bill and later realized that I was charged $2 extra.

We received a gift card for Empire Eats and since the Durham restaurant is not open we decided to try the Italian restaurant – Gravy, located in Raleigh – 25 miles from our home. The location is in the middle of the city – most...store fronts were bordered up and graffitied – not very inviting. We were the only ones dining on Thursday evening. The waitress was friendly, courteous, efficient, and masked. We ordered a Berry Salad – the description – fresh berries, fried goat cheese, red onion and greens ($8) The salad had about two strawberries – cut in small pieces (that was all the berries) greens, red onion and a few goat cheese, the dressing was a bit too peppery for me. I ordered chicken piccata which was served in a soup bowl – the chicken was floating in chicken broth and 2 lemon slices, a few cut up artichokes, some tomatoes and spinach, lots of capers and noodles which were partially stuck together. It was not appealing or tasteful. My husband ordered lasagna which was served in a small dish. The lasagne was also “soupy” not firm. It was just ok – not layered like the lasagna I am accustomed to eating. The restaurant is a long store front with booths against the wall facing a bar and a few tables in front of the bar and a few tables against the back wall. While we were eating there was a constant flow of staff walking back and forth – chatting and delivering take out orders. It was not the dining experience I expected. The bill listed a salad for $12 (the menu listed the salad as $8) – I did ask why and I was told it was because I shared the salad with my husband. This was our first and last time we will dine at Gravy.More

Terrific Takeout is an understatement. The four of us started by splitting a chopped salad and a Bruleed Brie Salad. Both were outstanding. Cold fresh young greens and crisp veggies, homemade dressings and what’s not to like about candied pistachios! The Basil green goddess dressing...was particularly noteworthy. TA reviews forced us to try the Risotto Balls. Delicious! Entrees were Spaghetti and meatballs, Gnocchi, Lasagna and the Tagliatelle Bolognese. The sauces/gravies were perfect and all tasted homemade like someone’s Grandmother had spent all day in the kitchen. Unique and flavorful. Not overdone. The pastas were the same. We finished by splitting a couple tiramisu and a cheesecake. What a great place. Their takeout system is easy to order online or you can give them a call. Food came out hot and was there waiting for us when we came to pick it up as promised. We will definitely be back. SOON. And thanks!!More

I go out frequently to eat and have drinks in Raleigh! How have I missed this great Italian restaurant? I wish I knew before! Excellent homemade pasta, the eggplant was THE BEST I have had since the little old Italian lady used to make it...from scratch for me! All of the staff were friendly but our wait staff Missie was that and super knowledgeable and gave great recommendations! The social distancing was obvious and they have dedicated staff to constantly clean/disinfect. I cant wait to go back! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GRAVY!!More

When this restaurant first opened, it was great. Recently, we have given them two more tries. We won't be back. The food is overpriced and under seasoned. Very bland lasagna and chicken parm. Overcooked pasta. NOTHING like Italy! Sorry. We wanted to like it. We...just can't. And an $8 side salad? I don't think so.More

I don't think this is the kind of place that would sell you a gallon of their wonderful sauce. But you could try calling them.
