Went with some friends while visiting in town, Sono had some of the best sushi I think I've ever had. Incredibly fresh and tasty rolls, and excellent service only wish there was one closer to me!

Great selection of sushi and ramen.was here twice over our trip. Loved how fresh the sushi was. We enjoyed the tonkotsu ramen, shoyu ramen which were hot and very filling. The soups are huge so you may want to share one and have sushi otherwise you may be too full for anything else. They are filled with delicious ingredients. We... More

Fully stocked ramen (with all the fixin's) and some of the best I've had in NC. I couldn't even finish the meal because it was so huge - I even had loads of ramen left over. Definitely want to come back here and try more of the sushi rolls too. Recommend to come here with friends, colleagues, a date, your... More

While the rolls are a little pricey than your average, they are AMAZING and the presentation itself is so beautiful. The tuna ecstasy and French kiss rolls are worth dying for.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. It is kid-friendly and fit for foodies. The food, ambiance, and service was great, and our waitress was superb!

Went there last year and this spring for lunch. Last year they had a great assortment of drinks, I don't eat sushi , etc, so just enjoyed a couple of drinks last year while hubby got the binto box, and I got a very large nice salad. Options were house ( ginger with mild mustard) or ginger ( very fine,... More

I loved this place, we didn't have a reservation and were promptly placed at the sushi bar at around 5:30pm. Our waiter, Charles, came right away and took our drink orders. After ordering our dinner, which our waiter helped me with, it came out in about 10 or so minutes. I ordered ramen, and it was absolutely to die for.... More

My spouse and I used to enjoy this sushi place downtown, particularly as a good place for a relatively quick meal of sushi before walkig down to a symphony concert. But the last evening we were there, we ordered a simple Chef's Choice sushi platter and a roll to share. For some unexplained reason, the service for us was very... More

Having not seen the dining options in Raleigh before, I didn't hold out a lot of hope on a quiet Tuesday night. Then along came Sono, a humming and upbeat Japanese surprise, right on the main strip from the Capital Building. I ate at the bar since I was alone, and found the service to be excellent. Not at all... More

My wife and I made reservations at the ultra chic SONO Japanese as a pre-NC Symphony dinner and we were not disappointed. Don't let the modern decor, ambient house techno muzak and the menu prices scare you. Most of the nigiri platters and samplers are huge and can be easily shared. We did this with the dinner Bento box and... More
