We held our son's rehearsal dinner here in June 2016, and the staff was great! We brought in a special cake that was prepared by a local baker, and they were very accommodating with that, too. The food was great, as well. The entire event went off without a hitch. We highly recommend The Pit.

We went on an afternoon when it wasn't too crowded. The servers were great, whoever was closest to the table took care of what you needed. The Brunswick stew was delicious. I got the pulled pork plate with Brunswick stew and fried okra. They were all delicious. A great stop for North Carolina BBQ.

Took a business group to The Pit after a long 12-Hr work day. First, it's open later than most BBQ places (10p). Second, it's got a great local beer menu with a couple "imports" from across the country sprinkled in. Third, it's got a great vibe. Fourth, it's clean, even for the high volume on a Weds nite. Fifth, the... More

The Pit is a favorite among the members of my family because its got something for everyone. They have turkey BBQ which is AMAZING and also a vegetarian option for those non-meat eaters you may know. Their sides are great too and I would highly recommend the mac and cheese!

Ate at The Pit twice in 4 days. Good North Carolina style BBQ. The food is very good. It is a nice, clean, and open atmosphere. Plates are big and you get plenty of food, a great selection of sides dishes to compliment every plate. Good bar area, and service was fast once seated. Moderately priced. The downsides are not... My guest wanted to try authentic NC barbecue so I suggested The Pit. We went there in the afternoon and it was busy. My partner ordered the shredded pork and I had the shredded turkey. What I like about The Pit is that you get to put the toppings on for yourself. In addition there are choices for your sides... More

Prior to attending a concert a few blocks away we stopped in at Crank Arm Brewing for a beer or two and ordered food to go from The Pit. We got a combo plate with a quarter chicken and the baby back ribs, along with sweet potato fries and cole slaw. I'm not a big fan of ribs but if... More

Great service and great food. We had a mixture of orders. Beef brisket, ribs, chicken, mashed potatoes, fries, etc!!!! Green beans were really good. The hush puppies are amazing. Could have made a meal out of them alone. The bar service was great too! Highly recommend for a large party!!

We went there on Saturday around 6pm and waited around 45 minutes without reservation. The wait was ok. The waiters are very friendly. We ordered deviled eggs and it was ok. Ribs are the best dish out of all the others that we ordered. I like the smoke flavor of the ribs but the fried chicken is very standard. Overall,... More

A friend and I had dinner here around 7 on a Thursday evening. We had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, but it was worth the wait. The menu offered lots of barbeque choices, so it was hard to decide, but I chose the pulled pork, which was served without a bun. The restaurant was clean and the... More
