Hidden gem with really good beer and food with a "make you feel at home" attitude!

This is one of the coolest places we've visited in a very long time. We recently had a reason to visit Spruce Pine NC and along the way we noticed someone had opened a micro brewery in the old mill along the river. So given that I love beer and for some reason my wife tolerates my bad habits we... read more

Fortunately we only live about 1 hour away, and have stopped by here a couple of times for lunch or a beer. We stayed here overnight in their lodge with another couple and had such a good stay. They treated us like family, and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable & had every thing we... More

OK, we came here for the Lodge as we were visiting nearby relatives. This is our second time here and we really love the family/owners. They are so friendly and gracious. We arrived late which wasn't a problem for them, they even gave us a pint of some of their brews. The rooms are very rustic but comfortable. The lodge... More

Large selection of brews (about 10 maybe? on tap), but there was no wheat beer, and when I asked whether they had a pumpkin ale, I was told it wouldn't be ready for another week or two. So my husband liked it but I wound up not drinking anything after tasting two that I thought might suit me.

we drove from Boone to PLumtree in the rain just to try some beers. IT WAS WORTH IT! This has to be one of the friendliest lodge/breweries ever. As we walked up we noticed they were busy setting up for a wedding. But with all that the owner stopped and greeted us and chatted about the brewery,Plumtree and life in... More

Out of the way Brewery and Lodge that serves their own Microbrew selects on tap. Tater Tot and chips/ Salsa filled the pie hoe during the sampling of the unique select of their Microbrew all of which get a Four star for taste and drinkability. Would love to book a room at their lodge but understand you must book in... More

This was our last Brewery to stop at but I have to say I think we spent more time here hanging out and talking to locals and travelers as well. The bartender was very informative and very helpful with everything we needed. This is off the beaten path but well worth the find.

We have had lunch before on a previous motorcycling trips to the Blue Ridge Mountains. We liked it so much we, Stateline Riders of Charlotte, NC, returned on 9/6 with 7 bikers who biked approximately a 130 miles and 2 1/2 hours with 5 new fellows for lunch. All the new fellows said and we agree that the lunch was... More

After enjoying some of Blind Squirrel's Belgian Triple at Skyview Village Inn in Little Switzerland... we had to find the brewery. If you blink you will miss Plumtree... but there is enough activity going on there that it's doubtful you would. The restaurant menu is one of those that has several things that you really want to try.. and that... More

They brew some excellent beers here. The Blind Squirrel Belgian Triple Ale is highly recommended. I had an very good trout po-boy with very good French fries. Unfortunately the Pat's salad had poor quality lettuce though she said the bacon and cilantro dressing were excellent. The service provided by Tera and the staff was excellent.
