We drove past this several times and wondered about it before but never went in. It is not the most appealing looking place or location but we decided to give it a shot this morning. Very pleasantly surprised. Food is very good, hot (which is getting harder to find these days), good portion sizes and at very good price, After being to several breakfast places in the area over the last year, this is the only one we will go back to from now on. The others have all been mediocre for one reason or another (cold food/wrong order/overpriced/bad service).

Corner Cafe & Catering always has friendly staff serving a vast menu. The desserts & entrees are delicious - the salads are enormous!

I wouldn't receive food from them it was free! I had a breakfast meeting and we ordered very simple Scrambled Eggs, Grits, Bacon, Sausage and Biscuits. except for the bacon... everything else was simply horrible. Dried Scrambled Eggs, Dried out Sausage Patties, I would call the Grits... Grits Soup. The Grits were an embarrassment to even serve. The Biscuits were lightly warm and some of them hard. Also... Biscuits with no gravy??? I seriously would not accept food from the if it were offered for free. As the Speaker, I was truly embarrassed to have the guests eat this so called food. That mistake will. not ever happen again. I threw over $200 in the garbage. Literally, as nobody wanted to take the very many leftovers home. What a waste.

Long term customer. In the past few months, service levels have been in the cellar. Generally, I pickup breakfast on my way to work. But, at an increasing rate, they have been getting my orders wrong. Of course, I don't find the errors until I've left, which is too late to correct. It really shouldn't be difficult to check the orde, as its bagged. I can't reasonably check it during p/u, as tyey pre-toe the bags.
As a long term customer, it's saddening to say...shop elsewhere. There are too many other dining options that care about your business.

BIG menu. Literally and numerically. Small establishment at a good corner of Westinghouse and Nations Ford in Charlotte. Big breakfast crowd and they do it right. But lunch was a different story. Food was hot; check. Staff friendly; check. Staff served well; check. Salads fresh; check. High carb menu; check. Large portions; check. Quality...; average. Some over cooking, fillers in others. Most of it's fine, but not going to win a Michelin Award. If you're working locally--great. If you're traveling through the area, pick something closer to I-77.

Went out for lunch break and decided to try the Corner Cafe and Catering that we have ever looked for months and months and a few years even.
The menu has such a great selection. Everything smells so good it is hard to make a decision on one lunch. I had the gyro salad and was super delighted with the lamb and the dressing. My associate had fried chicken and corn along with incredibly fluffy potatoes and gravy in a most generous portion!
We will definitely be back many many many more times to try as many things on the menu as possible. It was a very very busy lunch with super efficient staff that was friendly and it looks like a lot of a happy regulars.
Stop in and try this place out it is definitely not a Corner Cafe you want to MISS!

Co-worker and I ate here several days for lunch and this morning for breakfast, great food and service. The only negative the man in the kitchen was yelling at his staff COME ON HURRY UP EGGS BISCUITS GRITS and things like that. He should know customers hear him and it takes away from what should be a pleasant meal.

You cannot beat the breakfasts, but lunches are great also. Wide variety, sandwiches, plate meals and even some specialty meals. The salads are fresh and crisp and you can definitely ask for customized dishes.

Great place. Corner of Nations Ford and Westinghouse Blvd.
Great food, home cooked. Found by accident, was a great meal and great price. Will go back again.

With a diner style menu and seating layout, this is a little gem of a local favorite breakfast and lunch spot. Only because of a very positive local recommendation, we'd have never stopped here but were glad we did. The extensive menu offered so many desirable choices, selection was difficult. Think 'southern' with Greek and Italian accents. The portions were so generous we couldn't finish. Very reasonable prices made our experience a great value.
