My husband and I came two nights in a row. Just couldn't go home without another visit to this wonderful place. Great atmosphere and wonderful appetizers here. The crab dip is the best I have tried and the bang bang shrimp is delicious as well....Tonight we are taking a pizza home to the kids. Will report back about the pizza. Just had to share this lost treasure for others. The owner even comes around and says thank you. Enjoy...More

We picked up some pizzas for our group. We ate in our condo, and enjoyed the pizza. The crust was very soft, and underneath the ingredients, it was almost mushy. My husband threw his crusts away, as did some of our friends. I liked the...soft crust, it was almost like a soft pizza consistency.More

My teen and I always come to the same beach, and we had our routines - until this year. Circumstances forced us to find a new inn, and Covid created an opportunity for us to try out this little Italian restaurant that had piqued my...interest years ago. Talk about fortuitous! We had combed over the online menu and our palates were ready for shrimp Alfredo. To our chagrin, it wasn't on the menu when we sat down. Not to worry, for Edith, our incredible server, assured us we could still get it. It was perfect! Plump pink shrimp nestled in a delectable creamy alfredo sauce atop fettuccine. The accompanying bread was obviously made fresh and had an airy texture with a beautiful golden crust. We got the sense that this place is more a favorite of the locals than a tourist destination. Whether you like your Italian more surf or more turf, you'll find it here in a warm, friendly environment.More

First time there. Waitress was hurried, as she admitted just sat a few tables. We had to change orders twice - They were out of their special pork chop. They were out of veal, eliminating 3 more menu items. The salads had to be redone....The Italian Feast was average - minimal spicing in meatball or lasagna. Grilled shrimp and crab cake was the better meal.More

The lasagna and chicken parmesan were great and the waitress was a charm. I had a chance to talk with the chef, and he's a really pleasant guy and stands up for his staff when rude people show their butts, and it seems that it's...hard for him to keep employees when they can make more money staying home to receive covid handouts. So if you guys want to complain about inexperienced staff thank the House of Reps for that. I left a healthy tip for the waitress that was willing to work!More

My family and I have ordered takeout from Roberto's for as long as we have been coming to Ocean Isle Beach. This past time we went, we ordered a veggie pizza which started good. After eating a few pieces I went to dig to take...the black olives off of the pizza, and buried under the cheese and the rest of the toppings was a cricket. I couldn't believe it because I had never experienced such a sickening encounter. Right away I called Roberto's and talked to Roberto who is the owner and chef that makes the pizza. He said he had never heard of anything like that in his thirty-year career. He couldn't believe it so he made me stop what I was doing and drive to Roberto's because he didn't believe me. That's just the beginning, after driving down there I went in, where Roberto ( the Owner) was standing there waiting for me. I opened the pizza box for him to see the cricket. He began examining the cricket which I thought was pretty odd. He made up so many excuses that were unbelievable how a sixty-plus-year-old man and restaurant owner could make up. He said that the cricket would not look like that if it had been cooked at 450 degrees, he even said that the eyes weren't popped out yet. At the end of that, I was just thinking is he a pizza chef or a bug expert. He still didn't stop after that he said did a family member pull a prank, which couldn't even have been possible since it was cooked under the cheese and the rest of the toppings. At first, he wanted to give me a refund or make me another pizza, but of course like anyone would say they rather a refund than another pizza with crickets in it. When I said that he must have changed his mind, because then he didn't want to give me a refund. I didn't understand why a restaurant owner with 30 years of experience would address this situation as he did. I thought it was rude, disrespectful, and downright disgusting. On top of that, he wasn't even wearing a mask even after my 15-year-old son who has more common sense then him told him to put it on.More

My family and I had dinner at Robertos on the last night of our vacation. We have eaten here many times before, however, the post-COVID reviews had us a little concerned. As usual they did not disappoint. Waitstaff was very attentive and the food was...delicious. My husband ordered the Crab Cakes and said they were some of the best he has ever had. Highly recommend!More
