Food was great always is! The teenyboppers behind the counter are useless. They will stare right at you then go back to talking to one another.

We stopped here at about 2 pm on a Friday while on a quick family road trip with our new, 6 week old son. This was a great time to arrive because the crowd was smaller (great for social distancing . . . and they...have great precautions in place). The wait staff was prompt and very nice. My husband had the pulled pork BBQ sandwich with slaw and corn nuggets. I had the smoked pork tenderloin sandwich and fired okra - also delicious. We followed lunch with Smokehouse Parfaits (homemade whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, fruit, choc. sauce, and nuts) -- also very delicious! The staff making the parfaits were also very kind. We had a great experience on our first visit and recommend it to others.More
Average food, TERRIBLE service! We arrived an hour before close and you could tell everyone had already checked out. Our waitress was sweeping the whole time. She brought our appetizers at the Dane time as our entrees because our food sat in the window for...several minutes. The homemade ice cream and peach cobbler was really good.More
Food is always delicious and staff is always nice. The brushy mtn mudpie ice cream is amazing! Our family loves this place.
One of those covid panic gotta find a sit down place to eat. Wife and I split the BBQ sampler (more than enough for both of us) it was awesome no need for sauce the way reall BBQ is made. The only downer was the...hamburger steak my daughter got.. Just a bit dryMore
Ate dinner here June 2020. Limited seating available due to current pandemic but we were seated right away. Was surprised to see salad buffet but they did have a sneeze guard and plastic gloves available. Also a sign stating one person at the buffet at...a time. Lots to choose from the menu, was difficult to make a choice. I ordered the pulled pork BBQ sandwhich on Texas Toast with cole slaw on the sandwhich and a side of fried okra. It was delicious! I literally could of eaten two! The fried okra was cooked to perfection, it’s very rare when I order fried okra that restaurants get it right, but this was a welcomed exception. The portion size of the okra was a bit small but I was okay with it as I wanted dessert. I ordered cherry cobbler with their homemade vanilla ice cream and it did not disappoint! The ice cream was so incredibly creamy! Again, very small portion size but for the price it was fair. Three of us had dinner and dessert for $24 total. Staff was very friendly, food came out quick but the service was really slow. We rarely saw our waitress, the place wasn’t crowded not sure where she was most of the time. I had to go get my sons ice cream that came with his kids meal myself from the ice cream shop because the waitress forgot about it and I couldn’t find her to remind her. This place is not fancy by any means, it almost has a cafeteria feeling to it but the food and price will surely have you coming back. I have family who recently moved to North Wilkesboro, this BBQ place will be my go to eatery every time I visit now.More
Service is by far par and I get sick every time I eat here. Not everyone is friendly as they could be. Sure ice cream is good but the food sucks. There is better BBQ in Winston Salem. Go to Camel City BBQ!
Best ice cream place in town. I love all the fresh flavors!! They are more than happy to let you sample!! I love their salad bar as well!!
Met a group of retirees for dinner meal at Brushy Mtn. Smokehouse and was not disappointed. Our group was seated quickly and our orders taken right away. The food arrived very fast and everyone in our group commended on how good the food was. The...wait staff handled some additional wanted items easily and kept the drinks full all during the meal. Looking forward to our next visit.More
Yesterday while dining at Brushy Mtn Smokehouse for the first time in a while, we commented to each other how good the pulled pork was. Suddenly it dawned on us that it was actually better - significantly better - than the comparable dish served in...that famous eatery in Lexington. The pork was tender, delicious, pulled by hand, included some burnt ends (a good thing), and had no fat or gristle. In other words, perfect. The pork is served without sauce to give you the freedom to choose. I enjoyed the vinegar-based house barbecue sauce, which is available on your table along with a spicier sauce by Texas Pete. I have a favorite brand which I may bring with me next time, but it's just a matter of personal preference. The side dishes on the BMS menu are appropriate for a barbecue restaurant but there isn't much you can eat on a low-carb diet. Instead we opted for the salad bar, which was quite good; very fresh. I may bring my own salad dressing next time, but I'm picky about that. Our server was friendly and attentive, while handling several other tables at the same time. We were having a late lunch and even at that hour there were plenty of customers, but no waiting. We skipped the wonderful BMS ice cream but if your diet permits, by all means do indulge. It is some of the best in the area. TIP: We received a generous portion of meat in the standard-size pulled pork platter, so you don't have to get the large size platter unless you want to take home more leftovers (which isn't a bad idea). We have decided to come back here once a week in the future.More
