I was so excited about .going out tonight and after reading the reviews I thought for sure this place for be great. We normally go to Black Pelican or Owens, but decided to try this restaurant for a change. I ordered the broiled crab cakes...and I can't even explain how awful those were. They did not taste like crab and I was super disappointed. This will be the last time I will eat at this restaurant.More

We enjoyed a delicious meal. Candice our server was efficient and friendly. I ordered the prime rib sandwich with fries. My husband had green tail shrimp with cheesy grits cake. The food was prepared to our liking.

Friends decided to take me to this restaurant, I was very surprised, The food is fresh, copious and well prepared. Everyone agreed that the she crab soup is the best they ever had. The wine list is stunning. The views were wonderful.

Grilled shrimp plate very good! Came with slaw & cheese, broccoli grit cake. Grit cake was out of this world. Would go back again just for it!

The food was great ! We had a 15-20 minute wait because they were really busy and they were seating every other table. However the food was delicious and worth the little wait. We will definitely visit again !

Both the food and the service were superb. The staff went out of their way to give us a nice table with a view. It is not fancy – more of a homey place but you cannot beat the food. Only down side was the...Potato and vegetable “of the day” – I do not count a squash casserole as a true vegetable and paired with mashed potatoes? This restaurant is very good about COVID precautions but, like most OBX places, makes no effort to ask patrons to observe wearing masks when they are walking around to the restrooms, etc. At least we could keep our distance here.More

This is where you go when you want great seafood, locally sourced. I've been a fan of Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe since it opened in 1996, and it's always on my go-to list when I visit the Outer Banks. I love it even more after...seeing how efficiently and responsibly they serve great food in the time of coronavirus. And now they're running a food truck. There's so much to love on the menu that we kept going back and ended up having four meals over three days: three curbside to go from the restaurant; one from the food truck. Our favorites: the greentail shrimp with grit cake, sautéed shrimp tacos, Hatteras clam chowder, flounder. The veggies and other sides are sublime, too; so fresh and flavorful. Of course they offer plenty of "turf" for those who don't favor "surf" (o the heresy!). I'll stick with the seafood!More

On a recent trip to the Outer Banks my wife and I are looking for a place to eat on a Wednesday night in September. After stopping at a few restaurants that would not take reservations the wait times were about an hour to an...hour and a half. We happened upon Lonecedar and were seated within five minutes. The food was amazing the dinners were fresh and a great take on seafood dishes the wait staff was very attentive and everyone in the restaurant was Covid compliant They serve a corn bread before dinner that is incredible. My wife and I both had seafood dishes that were very delicious and would definitely have them again.More
