This was a nicer restaurant than most and it was a little more expensive. However, the food was excellent quality and great presentation. Service was also excellent.

My family makes it a point to visit Lone Cedar each year on our outer banks vacation week. We have never yet been disappointed! The food is plentiful and delicious. The service is always wonderful and friendly. I highly recommend Basnights Lone Cedar Cafe.

I had the single crab cake dinner and loved it. As the waiter said, it was about 90% crab meat and just enough filler to hold it together. I loved that it was simple and delicious! Also must note that the sweet potatoes with a jalapeño glaze were tasty. My husband and son loved the she crab soup - the... More

This was the first restaurant we visited during our week long stay. It was by far the best meal and experience we had all week. Fantastic locally caught fish and seafood! Everyone was thrilled with service, food quality & quantity. Price was mid range and not much more than other meals we had during the week. Can accommodate large groups.... More

For all you seafood lovers - I really thought about not reviewing this restaurant and keeping it as my secret! But why not share the happiness of Lone Cedar. This is my favorite seafood restaurant on OBX. Great food - always, great service and great views.

We ate here since recommended by hotel manager. Fried green tomatoes, bean medley, and whole flounder good. The special infused drinks need some improvement though. Drinks did not have much flavor.

The best She Crab soup I have ever eaten. Everyone in my party, even our turf eating friend, loved their meals. Nice atmosphere in a location with a great view!

Not all the places in OBX serve locally caught seafood but this place does AND they tell you the name of the fisherman who caught it right on the menu. I had blackened trout with jalapeno glazed sweet potatoes and it was delicious; generous portions so go hungry.

Description
At Lone Cedar Cafe, we specialize in fresh and local seafood. If you're craving the freshest fish, clams, crab, shrimp and oysters from local North Carolina waters, you'll find them at the Lone Cedar Cafe. For generations, Outer Banks families made their livings - and their daily meals - from the bounty of local waters, caught fresh every day. Our family, the Basnights, were part of that history, and we continue the tradition today by serving only the freshest Outer Banks seafood, caught in local waters and brought to our docks daily by local fishermen, then cleaned and prepared right here at the Lone Cedar Cafe. Our vegetables are "just picked" from North Carolina farms, we serve only all-natural beef and poultry and even our herbs and greens are grown in our own chemical-free garden on-site. Come enjoy delicious food, gorgeous sunsets and panoramic water views, the antics of our resident ospreys and our warm Southern hospitality.
