The Red Drum features a varied menu with something for everyone. Our server worked hard to attend to us. Sometimes an ample-sizedburger is a nice break from sea food during a week at the beach.

Seafood jambalaya was fabulous Lots of shrimp and sausage with a spicy sauce with onions, tomatoes, celery and of course rice. Spicy but not fiery. Lots is seafood options including crab legs, crab cakes, fresh fish etc. about 15 beers on tap plus many in bottles. About 8 local beers including a Gaelic ale from North Carolina. I recommend this... More

Stopped here after taking in Jockeys Ridge and Wright Brothers Memorial. Came during lunch rush, hostess was polite and accommodating. Originally 35-40 min wait turned into 15 minutes. Kids enjoyed Foosball and pool table while we waited. Food was really good (deep fried oysters were great) and prices very reasonable. Only negative comment-server did not ask one of the kids... If I were to judge a place by one meal and nothing else, RDT would have gotten maybe two dots, not three. This was not my first visit. I arrived alone at the peak of dinner time and managed to find a place to park. That despite the fact that RDT was pretty much packed. There were no tables available... More

Price was very reasonable for seafood entrees we had. Specials of the day were a nice addition to the menu and a nice twist from the chef. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that I would have preferred my blackened tuna to be a bit more rare than it was served,

We have seen this place quite a few times but tonight decided to stop in. We were seated right away, our server Fenton was there immediately to take our drink order. She was great- attentive without being annoying! Food was delicious!! We shared the shrimp quesadilla & the shrimp con queso with nachos. Wow!!! Amazing! Couldnt have asked for better... More

Made an adaption for my vegetarian preference! Key lime pie was great! A variation from traditional with raspberry sauce drizzle!

We have lunch at the Red Drum whenever we are at the Outer Banks. They have a very nice bar area but we don't drink. We go for the food! There were 4 in our group and we had everything from hamburgers to calamari. It was all delicious!

While in the Outer Banks for a long weekend recently, my husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant, and I'm so glad we did! We loved it! The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and the wait staff were super friendly and helpful. I had a tuna steak sandwich, which was to die for! My husband had a rueben sandwich, which... More

I visited this restaurant recently and found that the service was efficient and that the food was very good! Although seafood was the focus on the menu, I ordered a cheeseburger and fries which were cooked to perfection.
