Had our last meal at this fabulous last night. Hopefully not the last meal I will eat prepared by Kevin. Over the past year since discovering this hidden gem, I've tried most everything on the menu. Never been disappointed, and relish the fact that the...More

My wife and I travel to the Crystal Coast at least three times a year, for the great beaches, friendliness people and the excellent dining. Just off Arendall street is a unique restaurant you need to try. Its Latin American style and creative menu makes...More

We waited more than an hour for our food and the restaurant wasn't even busy. The food was very bland and overpriced. Very disappointed.More

Hi Rachel G, We are so sorry that your experience was disappointing. Would you do us a favor and email us and tell us more about your experience; for example what dish you had, so that we can make any improvements or changes. You can...More

If you frequent Morehead and haven't heard of La Perla, that's because the regulars are hiding it from you. They don't want to share. Chef and maîtresse de salle are both North Carolineans, we understand, but the menu is not the bulked-out tome you see...More

We had heard great things about this place; tried to eat there last year, but they were booked for a rehearsal dinner. So, we got there this time, being the last couple in the evening. I had the shredded pork: very forgettable. Deviled egg (one-half)...More

If you are looking for fried fish then there are many places to choose from in Morehead City. La Perla has great local seafood. There Ceviche was fresh, local and very tasty. The steak was cooked to perfection and presented with leeks and a rich,...More

Our dinner was simply amazing. The shisito peppers were one of the best things I've ever eaten. We ordered roasted pork, lamb, and a fish special. All were perfectly cooked with layers of flavor. And, yes, we went for dessert too. The chocolate tort was...More

Description
La Perla's cuisine is inspired by dishes in Latin countries all over the world. You will find a broad assortment on our menu; we have featured Paella (Spain), Feijoada (Brazil), Mofongo & Pastelon (Puerto Rico), Cochinita Pibil (Mexico), Chupe (Peru), Churasco steak (Argentina). Our chef Kevin Davis is a restless chef. He is self taught, and he continues to learn, challenging himself to be better with every dish. The menu at La Perla changes 3 - 4 times a year, and with every new menu Kevin improves his skills. Desserts are all made in house by Kevin, and most days we have house made ice cream in surprising flavors - Mexican chocolate, honey fig, balsamic strawberry, even corn ice cream with candied bacon. From October to April we offer 4 Course Wine Dinners every second Wednesday. The dinners can feature any kind of cuisine - Italian, Spanish, French Polynesia, or all seafood. These dinners are family style and happen at one large table with everyone sitting together. Reservations are highly recommended in the summer months.
