A favorite of ours!

This has been high on our dining list for several years now. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious! We have gotten to know the owner and servers, who make sure to check in on us. I was told if there's any dietary needs, just let them know and they can adjust the ingredients. Our favorites are the Sizzling Chicken Skillet, Pad Thai, and Fried Rice. The sushi is always fresh and amazing!! I would give them 10/10 ⭐.

Best restaurant in town - Hands down....

We have been eating here for many years, and we have consistently been served fantastic food. Our go-to meals are delicious, but we are happy that even when we try something new, it's very good. The prices are also very reasonable. We can always count on a good meal here. The menu is big enough to accommodate all of our family's food choices, and the two of us who are gluten free can easily find something as well (this is a big deal for us). We usually get one of the two female waitresses, and she is very friendly and attentive. The owner usually stops by to to chat as well. It's a great neighborhood place.

Just an okay spot if you're looking for sushi

As I was driving from Charlotte to Mooresville, I called in my order at 6pm and was told it would be ready around 6:30. I arrived at the restaurant at 6:35 and paid for my takeout meal, then was told it was almost done and would be just a couple of minutes. At 7:00pm, my meal came out to takeaway only to be discovered that I was missing 1/3 of it because the order was entered incorrectly. After another ten minutes, it was finally ready to go. Had I placed my order upon arrival, there is no way I would have waited for it for that long. To be fair, the waiter who took my order over the phone apologized that he had made the mistake and gave me an extra roll, which I feel deserves an extra mark here (would have been three stars otherwise). I feel bad for this place because they only had four wait staff and easily 60 patrons. The kitchen had way more cooks, as was evident by the amount of food coming out from the kitchen (people who came well after me ordering hibachi had their takeaway ready in minutes) compared to the sushi rolls (one sushi chef). The sushi itself was fine. Nothing extraordinary, but acceptable, given that it's Mooresville. I will say that I requested extra wasabi and was given that. I'm very pleased with that because a lot of places are stingy with providing extra, even when asked. I don't know if I was charged extra for it because I was not provided an itemized receipt. To be honest, I think I was overcharged based on the mistake made (the mistake roll was about $5.00 more than the roll I actually ordered), but the free roll sort of made up for that mistake, I suppose. My thoughts: This was a Sunday night, so if you're in a hurry, plan to wait awhile; I have no idea how they manage on a Friday or Saturday night. For the restaurant: please hire more staff. I was able to drive from southeast Charlotte to Mooresville and still wait an additional 30+ minutes for my food... At least there are good and honest staff at this establishment that seem to care about and treat their customers with respect. Would I return? Probably not since I live in Charlotte and not Mooresville. But, in the event I get back up here, I would consider it; albeit planning more in advance.

Stay away during COVID

I’ve always liked this place but the last three times I’ve eaten here, almost all employees are walking around without a mask on, it’s infuriating. Do they not know we are in a once in a lifetime pandemic? It shows the selfishness, carelessness, and wrecklessness of this establishment. Regardless of what they or anyone thinks of this pandemic, people are getting sick and others are dying...and they are serving food! They should be the last to stop wearing the masks in my opinion. If they care this little about your well being in front on you, that worries me with what could be going on in the back (in reference to the food). This will be my family of 4’s last trip to Phoenix, at least until we are in a post-Covid world.

I love Phoenix. I am also very happy that they do NOT enforce the wearing of a mask. I will give them my business at least once a week , maybe twice Mainly because they respect our freedom, and do NOT make me wear a mask. IF you want to wear one, that is your right, if I dont, that is my right. ' See you tomorrow Phoenix peeps!!!!

grease dinner

I ordered pud Thai , wonton soup and springs rolls to go. The pud Thai was disgusting, just a slop of wet salty noodles. The soup was mediocre and the spring rolls were dripping with grease. Should have ate cereal from my pantry. Will not return-never have had much luck with this place, this was the last straw.

Awesome sushi!

Just ate lunch at Phoenix. This is the best sushi I have ever eaten! Great service, the owner came to table to talk to us about the different rolls and sushi preparation, super nice guy. You can watch them make your roll right in front of you. This will definitely be a regular stop from now on.

Terrible service at front!

Unfortunately, we have been here several times and can't even get seated. It's more than awkward, just standing there watching numerous staff passing you by, not acknowledging you at all, including the owner/manager!! It's understandable that they could be short-staffed, but at least speak! They just can't seem to get it together at the front, and don't care for your business. We've seen other people just walk out too. Frustrating.

I have eaten here probably 50 or more times in the last 6 years and the food is ALWAYS fresh and tasty. The service is always excellent as well. Prices are good too! I would recommend it to anyone!

From the hostess, to the waitress, to the chef, no masks. Went once a few months ago, no one wore masks. Forgot about the place and returned to find there was still no one wearing masks.

Not going back there ever, food and price was ok but no hygiene being cared for by owner, bath room filthy and most concerning No staff wearing mask, they touch plate and foods. Wondering why they still open, waiting when the health department will pay visit to shut them down.

This restaurant is not following state mandated guidelines for COVID. Masks are not being worn by any employees (or the owner). Shows recklessness and lack of interest in protecting customers and community. Sushi @ the Lake is across the street and not only are they protecting their customers by wearing masks, but the sushi is better. 💁‍♀️
