Our first trip to Mayfair....and we were not impressed. Your typical "fish house". We were there on a Thursday evening....place was not busy so I would expect there should be no problems with our order (I expect that in every restaurant I go to!), but that was not the case. We both ordered the flounder special, but got the flounder... More

Nice place to take the whole family for a reasonable seafood dinner. Kids menu and Seniors menu. I recommend the flounder and shrimp. The combination plate is the best deal. I did not care too much for the cold slaw . Place gets crowded on Friday and Saturday nights.

This was our second visit to Mayfair and it was well worth the long drive. The breading on the seafood was very crispy and nothing was soggy. The portions are very large and it is a bargain.

Just moved to monroe from the gulf coast & was craving seafood. The service was terrible, ran out of tea, the food was aweful & tasted like it was frozen. Waste of money!

While I will say the food here is good , the customer service is terrible. Went tonight, waited 45 minutes for food while people who arrived after us got theirs. It wasn't even that crowded Our waitress had a large group in the back so I didn't blame her thought they shouldn't have given her that many tables. Told the... More

I love a good plate of fish, and this is definitely the place to get it. Every time I come here it is a treat. Do try it yourself and see.

While they used to be across the street, Mayfair (under the same ownership) continues to be the main fish camp restaurant in Monroe. The portions are plentiful and lightly fried (unless you order broiled). The prices are well within reason. The service is less-than-spectacular but you can always flag down the waitress. The good thing here is that nothing is... More

I don't recommend eating at this place- they don't know how to fry fish properly. Each time I've been it was very soggy/sopping with grease, and nasty. The manager also is very rude.

People if you are a seafood lover, you have gotta make it a point to visit this place. I live in Maryland but cant wait to visit my son and family which live near Monroe,NC just so I can eat here. When I am visiting him we always try and make a family dinner night out just to eat at... More

The fish is usually very greasy here. They charge extra for broiled ($1.25) which I'm happy to pay, but when you get something fried and it's limp like a fairys wrist and soggy wet with grease, no way. We've eaten here many times and the food is either fair, poor or bad. Most of the tme between fair and poor.... More
