Traveling through and we wanted a steakhouse for dinner...I wanted to try the Outback but my husband wanted Texas Steakhouse so we went there. We ate in the bar area...bartender was super busy w/ takeout orders and making drinks for servers. She got to us...after 15 minutes, but couldn’t be mad at her bc she was working so hard. Food came out timely and was cooked very nicely (they get the 2 stars), but more disappointments....bread never served, side dishes not served even when asked for, and waited over 10 minutes to speak to a manager. Was really hoping for something better.More

I am a local and love to support our local merchants. Visited 1/3/2021 and ordered the Dillon Steak . When it came out and I took a bite, i could barely swallow the steak. It taste like paper. No taste what so ever. Sent it...back and ask them to put it in a to-go plate since everyone in my party had eaten. Get home and it was even worse. Don't think I'll be going back. Losing all Steak houses in Lumberton to eat at. Guess I'll have to go outside my area for good steak ...... SadMore

Traveling the week before Christmas. Decided to stop at this establishment for dinner. What a mistake! Lots of cars in the parking lot we thought that we would have a long wait. Not the case! I guess the employees park out front for marketing purposes....No host to greet guests, manager personally tending to basically all the operations of the restaurant this evening. The roof must have a major leak as they had three buckets in the middle of floor collecting water. Ladies bathroom had no soap and there were paper towels thrown all over the place. One question... what do the employees that are required by law to wash their hands do? Just asking! The restaurant was actually very empty. Took for ever to get our food! The orders were wrong and for a so called “statehouse” their steaks leave a lot to be desired. If you find yourself on I-95, near Lumberton, NC and you see the advertising for this restaurant, keep driving. There are better choices ahead!More

My husband are new to Lumberton and were hungry for a good steak. Longhorn is our favorite, but there isn't one in Lumberton. So we went to the Texas Steakhouse right off of I-95. It was great. First of all we had Amber as our...waitress. She acted happy to be at work, smiling, and being friendly. At her suggestion my husband ordered the Marshal Dillon. Wow, it was tasty! I got the filet and both were cooked to perfection. It is an older building and kind of dark, but having a friendly waitress made the visit very enjoyable.More

As a road warrior, I visit quick-serve steakhouses regularly. Longhorn does it better than anyone else, but unfortunately, there’s no Longhorn in Lumberton. Having forsaken Outback long ago, I opted for what I thought would be a safe bet – Texas Steakhouse. In this case,...my decision was so, so wrong… Imagine walking in at 7:05 PM and the first words out of the hostess’s mouth are “we have a 45 minute wait for dinner unless you sit at the bar.” Imagine then saying the bar would be OK, only to have the hostess say “we close at 8:00; the manager wants us to tell everyone.” Imagine sitting down to dinner at an appropriately spaced bar, only to have the AC drip, drip, drip on you throughout dinner – it seems the dripping ductwork runs the length of the bar… Imagine asking the bartender for her recommendation from their selection of cabernet sauvignon wines, only to be told “I don’t know, I don’t drink wine…” Imagine receiving a first glass of wine so old that it had turned and tasted rancid… Imagine ordering a replacement glass of another wine (merlot, as they only have one cabernet), only to have it arrive just as bad tasting as the first…. …only to then figure out that the reason the wines are tasting so bad is that there’s so much dish soap left in the glasses that it’s turning them into awful tasting, bubbly messes. Imagine receiving your filet mignon and baked potato side, only to have the steak taste good, but the baked potato to be barely room temperature in the middle… Too frustrated to complain and feeling too badly for the bartender who was obviously overworked, in an awkward layout that forces her to frequently leave the bar to travel to the kitchen to check on orders, I ate my meal, paid my bill, tipped my bartender/server… …and vowed to write an honest review so that other Tripadvisor users can be forewarned and can make another dinner restaurant selection in Lumberton. Never again, Texas Steakhouse! The desk clerk at my nearby hotel tonight asked how dinner was; I gave him the whole story, and he suggested that I try a restaurant named “Christopher’s” next time I’m in town. Sounds like a plan…More

This is no way a steakhouse! This place leaves a lot to be desired. The outside signs and decor are very old and rundown. When we entered there was only 4 other tables but it took 10 min for us to be acknowledged and seated....Then we got a mute waitress. I kept saying “thank you” and such with no response. Very strange. The sirloin steak was tough & tasteless. I had to pour on the salt &pepper. The green salad was old and wilted. Very disappointed. I used the restroom and it was like an 1876 Little House on the Prairie Outhouse. Wood walls were rotten, old and stained. Ceiling was rusted and had holes. Just gross. I couldn’t wait to get the bill And throw money away so I could get out of there. Disgusting all the way around.More

Like with most TripAdvisor ratings this restaurant was given a four-star. I didn’t deserve it. Something about TripAdvisor they give better ratings than the actual reviews. I really have to start checking other sites first. The waitress was extremely nice, she was an actual gem...and the only reason to not give this one a zero rating. The food came with very small portions for the price. But more than anything it made everyone sick. I had ordered the shrimp and catfish plate. I asked for some dipping sauces to try and waited to start eating until after I received them. Everyone else completed at least half the meal before I started eating. The reason I say this is as soon as I Took a bite of the catfish I realize that it was rancid. It was presented very pretty In other words it looked good. And well seasoned. But there’s no way to of not known that you were serving rancid food prior to cooking. The smell was so bad it made everyone else at the table nauseous. I immediately could not eat anything else. Because it turned my stomach so bad. the Only thing that I did Get the chance to eat before my meal was the appetizer of chips and queso. The chips were very overcooked. And the queso was some of the cheapest off the shelf grocery store dip I have ever had. Everyone else in my group were in The bathroom within a half an hour sick. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. In my opinion ,They made a conscious effort to Use cheap and outdated food.More

The staff was very helpful and friendly, but the food was remarkably poor. They are a steak house, but we’re out of several kinds of steak! The smoked brisket, was previously frozen or something, and was drenched in supermarket BBQ SAUCE. SORRY.

Stopped in for lunch while traveling for business. We got there right at opening time and everyone seemed friendly. Out waitress was nice and personable. I had the Philly Cheese steak. It wasn't bad, just needed a little more meat to fill in the roll....The bathroom on the the other hand seemed run down and maybe needed a good cleaning. Other than that, it wasn't a bad visit.More

We travel back to NYC and stayed right across to this restaurant. We see some customers there but quite a few empty seats. We understood this was New Year Day and must be understaffed. It is true. We wait for 15 minutes and we are...seated. The place is big and a bit outdated and dim. The waitress was. Ice and we ordered the Appetizers Sampler which include chipotle chicken stripes, fried onions patel, and loaded fries. We also have a grilled chicken salad and a surf and turf. I took a photo and it includes everything. Because the portion is SO SMALL!!!! The steak is okay and the crab cake is fine. The baked sweet potato gives the 2 Star to this restaurant. The grill chicken is cold and dry right out from the fridge!!! Do not even microwave it!!. The veggies is smaller than a $1 side salad in the fast food chain! The chipotle sauce is over heated and burn our tongues. The cheese on the fries are dried already as it must be waiting for the waitress to pick up for a long time. The raspberry ice tea is over-syrupped! The only generous part in the whole meal! Stingy and fair food. Skip it!!More
