The menu here serves a variety of food, but I stopped by since it was on the NC BBQ trail. I got a BBQ plate and sat at a bench at the post office across the street since seating is sparse and crowds are heavy....The pork was above average, but the sides were below average. Therefore, I have to balance this to a 3. The cornbread and beans definitely could've used a bit more. You won't find many options this close from the Parkway though and it seems you can find something decent on the menu for most tastes. The General Store is in no way impressive, but make sure you check out the book shop next door.More

I love trying local BBQ whenever I can, and their pulled pork did not disappoint! The sauce was flavorful and the serving was plentiful. My only complaint is that the cole slaw was a bit bland, but it still paired with the pulled pork nicely....Definitely worth a stop if you’re staying nearby or just driving through the area!More

Cute general store. Customer service was atrocious! We bought items and the lady who checked us out had the personality of a corpse.

I'm sorry but that's just mean. We work very hard to help and serve everyone. Besides covid making it quite difficult, comments like these really don't help.

Husband and I need light lunch so split a reuben and had soup. The soup was homemade but a little different. Good place for lunch and more reasonable than going to the Inn.

This is a conveniently located stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The food was passable - make sure to ask for any dressings or sauces in the side if you don’t like your food drenched. Very limited seating possibly due to covid? We had wanted...to grab a picnic and go, but didn’t see many options for a cold lunch. Not much Swiss going on here. Of course the mountains are beautiful, but I was really hoping to find some good Swiss chocolate.More

This place is a great choice. I want to come again and again. That peace is found here and with the family and with friends.

We needed a break after a morning of driving the parkway and some of the more exciting mountain roads. We just had coffee and pastries, while we browsed the shop and bought some tee shirts to commemorate our drive.

Great lunch ! Awesome sandwiches! We stopped on our motorcycle tour of the Blue Ridge Parkway. We ordered trout sandwiches and they were very tasty! As side we had pasta salad and potato salad: both very good. Great place would come again for sure. Careful...also with COVID.More

Stopped here for lunch while on our way to Emerald Village. The owners, manageres, an staff have accommodated for our days of COVID very nicely. Ordering was easy with minimal contact and picnic tables were readily available with social distancing! The food was outstanding and...the servings were very generous. My grandson's hot dog was huge and my sandwich was as good as any you would get in a sandwich specialty restaurant. I recommend you stop here when in the area.More
