We were just driving around the area after trying to go up Grandfather Mountain (you guessed it, too windy). Had a really nice lunch on the porch talking to local residents. They have a much larger menu than I expected, and the food was good. Nice little store too. Really enjoyed it!

The food is great. The people there go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The shop has many unique kinds of things for sale. Fun to browse and find things you won't find anywhere else. Great for the entire family.

We love heading to Old Hampton to grab delicious BBQ before heading to upper and lower creek falls. The store is adorable with lots of knick knacks and cute shirts and the food is even better. Two types of BBQ sauce, lots of side choices and the hush puppies are amazing.

Stumbled on this place 6 years ago and made a point to return on this trip. Still great. Quaint setting, antiques & crafts to peruse, and good food. BBQ is very good. They've added a small bar w/ craft beer but I wasn't able to partake on this day.

Hampton BBQ has added a bar, small one but perfectly adequate. They serve the same menu as the regular seating area just next door. I have sampled their BBQ over the years and found it OK, nothing special. It was served on a large sour dough bun that over powered the BBQ. In my last two visits I found the... More

There aren't many options near Grandfather Mtn. so we were glad to discover Old Hampton Store and Barbeque. Quick counter service and cute, country atmosphere. We sat on the porch and enjoyed the shade. They do feature music throughout the week and also have a teeny bar area where mixed drinks and beer is served. Okay but bland sandwiches. Wouldn't... Went there and enjoyed the food and then walked around the store. The barbecue was great, sides fresh and yummy. Live music while we were there. Great time and had never noticed the store before on trips to Boone.

Happened into this place after visiting the Linville Caverns and Falls. Stick to the pulled pork as the turkey and chicken sandwiches were average. Limited BBQ sauce selction but their main one is pretty good. Interesting little store to browse. Looks like a local hangout set up for a band to play with separate bar area.

Great place for cocktails with friends. Bartender very friendly and great craft cocktails! Nice place to dust kick back on the porch and enjoy a drink.

We love going to the old Hampton store for BBQ when up in the mountains- went there last week after a hike and they now have a small bar inside with local ale. We love the BBQ and banana pudding and art shops nearby. They are now open later than in the past which is nice - great place to... More
