Jimmy the Bartender is a true artist. Just tell him to surprise you and he will not disappoint with an original creation. Food and service are great. Firecracker shrimp is excellent, as are the chicken cheese egg rolls.

Great little place on Main St and one of the few that stays open on weekends! Portions are generous. Chicken Terr. with pineapple is my favorite! Also offers take-out.

Another restaurant in uptown Lexington was closed and we decided to try Shoto Japanese Steakhouse. We were very pleased with the atmosphere, the old-timey booths, quality of service and food. We will certainly dine there again.

The bar is amazing! Love that they have someone who understands how to mix drinks. It's not about using a mix from a bottle, it's about really knowing the old timey bar tending skills.

The food is awesome and extremely customizable, so even the pickiest eaters can find something. Don't skip out on the Chicken and Cheese Egg rolls, they are to die for. If your there on a weekend don't forget to visit Jimmy in the bar to drink some of the best drinks in Lexington. He is an amazing bartender with a... More

I was not impressed with this Japanese establishment. I am more accustom to seeing my food prepared in front of me and this was not the style. I like that interaction and felt somewhat robbed.

This is Lexington, not Charlotte or Greensboro with high end Japanese restaurants. What this restaurant does offer is a really good dinner with many food selections. Plus, the owner is friendly, sincere and tries to make everyone feel welcome and appreciative of their dining experience. The cost is very moderate and the preparation and style of Japanese food is really... More

Giving the standards of the city (there're just a very few other places besides the regular fast foods), not a surprise for such good reviews. The first "Japanese" restaurant without a miso soup I've ever experienced. It is half southern deep fried food. The famous "roof bar" is a 7 barstools little corner (with alcohol, yes).

My wife and I decided to give Shoto a try and that won't happen again. The waitress was new, which is fine, but she was poorly trained. When I asked about one of the sauces, she replied she "didn't know." She didn't offer to find out, either. I ordered a Budweiser and was brought a Bud Light. My wife ordered... More
