We visit the area yearly and always plan a dinner here. I love the ambiance almost as much as the food. The excellent wine list adds to the enjoyment. While I don't eat Trout, everything else on the menu is equally well prepared and presented.

Went there twice in four days. Trout was terrific and cooked numerous ways from plain grilled, or sautéed with many options for toppings and sauces. Also had the calamari which was pretty good. The shrimp and crab soup was good but very rich. Definitely recommend...More

Thank you, We greatly appreciate your patronage and review! Our trout is fresh Carolina mountain trout, and each one of our chef-inspired sauces are made each day. The spicy marinara sauce gives our calamari a spicy little kick and we would be happy to include...More

We love having dinner at The Brown Trout and this past visit was wonderful, as usual. I had the traditional trout and it was cooked to perfection and served hot with a delicious lemon caper sauce. We will be back again soon.

Thank you very much for your review. The traditional trout is one of my favorites. The trout is local Carolina Mountain trout and the Lemon Caper sauce is made daily in-house. We greatly appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing you again!

The food was wonderful. Screwed up our order.never brought salads. Waited forever for our wine.may be just a bad night. 2 1/2 hours for the whole meal. Service is owner's fault. Needed more people and a wait staff that can think.More

We did not expect to enjoy the restaurant as much as we did. We thought a place in the middle of the mountains without much around would not be much in terms of food. Boy were we wrong. The service, menu selection, and overall attitude...More
