I was disappointed in our dinner, service and the general attitude of the restaurant. One server had a mask and gloves but wore her mask under her nose. She walked by us many times. There was a group in the private dining room. They all...lined up right beside our table, coughing and sneezing and checking out our food. It was disconcerting. We eat here every time we visit Lake Lure. Their garlic rolls, pastas, and Italian Nachos are a few of our favorites. The staff is extra friendly with excellent service. Ask for John when you visit, he was out most recent waiter and was wonderful.

We chose La Strada at Lake Lure as our post-elopement reception dinner location sight-unseen and I'm so grateful that we did! It was minutes from our ceremony at Chimney Rock, had a beautiful view of the lake, and the food was delicious. Joe, the owner,...made it easy to plan and our server was fantastic. They accommodated our party of 14 (including several young kids) with ease and had an area somewhat separate from the main dining area for us. The meal options were great and everyone loved their meals. The price was great, especially considering the size of the meals and the inclusion of the salad, rolls, and soft drinks. They were also great about giving us a discount for substituting their dessert with our wedding cake. We had to wait a bit for dinner but thankfully the 2 hour window for the reservation time was plenty of time for us to all eat and enjoy with ease. Being the first-time vising Lake Lure, we didn’t really know which one the better restaurant was to visit. We completely relied on ratings online. La Strada received glowing reviews on many platforms. So, we decided to give this establishment a try. In our professional opinion,...La Strada was extremely disappointing. It was nothing more than a tourist trap. We were promptly seated; however, our server did not come to our table until 17 minutes later. That was the first negative mark. With the name like La Strada, it sent out a message that the menu items were of Italian cuisine in nature, or at least an Americanized version of it. Instead, the lunch menu offerings were all over the place. We opted for Spaghetti with meat sauce and added sausage to the dish. We also ordered the eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti. The meat sauce looked and tasted old. The color was no longer vibrant red. It was painfully obvious that sauce had been heated and reheated again for at least twice. The burnt flavor notes just supported my suspicion. The sausage was overcooked and lacking umami. The eggplant parmigiana was only slightly better because the sauce was “fresher”. The eggplant was elastic and extremely thin. This dish was covered with an extreme amount of mozzarella cheese. Garlic rolls were the only good item on their menu. The slow service married with sub-par food made La Strada a poor choice for a culinary adventure. We could not comprehend the glowing reviews. Perhaps it was our unlucky day during this visit.More

La Strada was an excellent lunch spot to host our car group for lunch of 65 people. The service and waiting staff was great. Everything was already setup upon arrival which was great and conveinent for our entire group. The food was great and everyone...really enjoyed there experience.More

We had an adult Sunday School class get together to view the autumn leaves, Chimney Rock Park and we had lunch here on the outdoor patio. Everyone was happy with their meals and service. The manager was so helpful in the planning of our group...visit. So glad we had our meals here because of our schedule timing was a factor, but with the excellent service we enjoyed our time with no delays.More

the meals we had were all great , there was a very nice selection . real italian like food from NYC . being italian we are very particular on what we order and get .

Firstly, the location is gorgeous. Great view of the lake and mountains. The lighting is very ambient, as well. The food is delicious and was cooked to perfection. But what really made the experience, was our server Jason, and how attentive he was to our...needs. We never needed to ask for anything, he was on top of everything. The parking is tedious but well worth it!More

Staff was friendly. Food had very generous portions. We had Italian dishes,seafood, and pizza and all were delicious. Parking was ample. Atmosphere was family oriented. Very enjoyable and fun. Very reasonable prices for the portions.
