Called order in for the best burgers around. Mushroom and Swiss as well as a bacon cheeseburger with the works. Had onion rings and fries. Only 4 stars this visit because they do not have a separate pickup person for order when it is ready. We had to wait while others were ordering which caused our rings and fries to loose their crispness and the burgers not hot but they really are the best burgers on the east coast
Always stop here when in the OBX

I have visited the OBX since the mid 80s and have owned a summer cottage here since the mid 00s. I am a fan of crab cakes and have tried them everywhere; the bar has been set! I will likely be comparing the quality of the crab cake sandwich I had at Art’s Place to others for years to find something that compares. Over the top burst of flavor; the cake almost crumbled in the bun indicating it was mostly crab and little filler. My teenagers loved their burgers and chicken sandwich and raved about the fries. Service was friendly and efficient despite limited seating capacity caused by cold weather. My girls asked if we can make this one of our regular go to restaurants; for sure!

Delicious, decadent. We each ordered the hearty Monte Cristo sandwich on the breakfast menu, and included the optional 2 eggs on the side. French toast for bread, with 4 oz of raspberry sauce served on the side (plus usual meats and cheese inside). Happy to have a fresh fruit garnish: orange slice, strawberry, and blueberries. Unless you need a Hangover Sandwich, the optional eggs are superfluous. Casual beach ambiance. If lucky, you can snag counter seats on the front deck with a view of the ocean while you eat. Our coffee was a bit weak, hence the 4 stars (coffee is very important to me). We shall definitely return!

GREAT burger. Pet friendly. Laid back atmosphere. We each got bacon cheeseburgers with provolone topped with a fried egg & there were plenty of fries. I actually took some of the fries & laid them on top of the burger (think Primanti’s sandwich) in order to make sure the bun didn’t slide off due to Mayo/mustard. The crew was short staffed but worked together to get the dinner rush taken care of & they were wonderful. Thursday night is apparently jazz night so we had live music inside that we had no problem hearing outside. Will definitely be back.

We spent a week at OBX in August and, due to covid, we mostly got take-out meals rather than eat inside a restaurant. We tried Art's Place for the first time, getting take-out for our family. I got a cheeseburger and onion rings and they were really good. The burger was big and juicy, maybe just a tad too rare, but that made it very tender and tasty so I won't complain. The onion rings were crispy and so very tasty. I wish we could have eaten inside, because food is never 100% as good when you transport it to your condo, but even with the 10 minute time lapse, the food was still very good, so I give this place high marks and look forward to going there again on our next trip to OBX. Hopefully, we can inside next time!

Ordered crab cake sandwiches, fries and onion rings which were all very good. Crab cake sandwich was different than usual with a Thai basil coconut taste, so if you’re looking for something different in your crab cake this is it. Fries and onion had to be heated and toasted in the oven but that’s because it’s take out only at this point.

This was our first time staying in Kitty Hawk, and we were lucky enough to be right across the street from this place. It was actually on our way to the beach, so we stopped often as soon as we discovered how great it was. Burgers were delicious. The fried green tomatoes were amazing! The jalapeño poppers we’re wonderful. Danny was our bartender every day, and she made us feel like we had been regulars for a years. She even remembered our drinks and our names We also met Cotton, one of the chefs there, after she was done her shift and she also made us feel right at home with her warm and welcoming personality. We will definitely be back next year!!!!!

The burgers are always a must every time we go to OBXing. We tried their breakfast for the first time and it was great. I thought I was getting a light breakfast by ordering the biscuits and gravy, but it was so much food when we came back for lunch I had to get an app only.
Kids love eating on the deck and looking at the waves. Kids love the place so it allows us to have a few adult drinks while they finish eating. Just go eat there, everything is good.

We have been coming to Art’s for 6 years and our opinion hasn’t changed. Best burgers and beach fries anywhere. All the food is great, we’ve also tried the crab cake, chicken sandwich and wraps. Breakfast is also a must, sausage gravy to die for and delicious pancakes as big as you plate. The service is outstanding, friendly, fast and attentive. This was our first time eating outside, but it was nice and cool on a very hot day and our server checked on us frequently. Art’s Place is a definite must try when on the OBX.

I called in last night at about 7:15 to place a take out order. The girl who answered the phone said "we're too busy to do a take out order." I am a local and go there from time to time. This is the second time I was told this as they said the same thing a few months ago. Unfortunately, this was also my last time. You don't want my business, I won't bother you.

The burgers and onion rings were excellent. The fries were okay. I would recommend this place for a solid burger. I would love to see other options of meats for burgers such as chicken burgers. Great location and restaurant set up. The staff was very friendly and I found the pricing for food to be more than fair.

Food was wonderful. The best burgers. My daughter is allergic to wheat. When she asked for no bun, our waitress offered to serve her burger on lettuce leaves. We ate outside, fun area. Very accommodating to kids. They even allow pets in their backyard.

Our waitress was cordial but not friendly. The food service was very slow although the restaurant was not crowded. We ordered a burger & fries and a burger & onion rings. Both arrived with fries. Onion rings were brought but they were over fried and greasy. Both orders of fries were limp and greasy. My hamburger was not seated on the bun and I was unable to pick it up to eat. The burger was hot -the bun was soggy and cold. Famous for burgers, Art's can, and should, do better.

This place is outstanding! Smal but can be deceptively large too. Best burgers in the OBX. Why? Everything is fresh, people are nice, and the burgers are creative. I hade the Garlic burger, while my wife had a sirloin tip burger. Her sweet potato French fries were crisp and sweet/ salty. This is my third time in 2 years and I will make it a tradition.

First meal during our first visit to the Outer Banks. Easy to find location, very busy for a pre-Memorial Day weekend. Sat in the backyard at an umbrella-covered picnic table. Waited about 10 minutes before being asked by a server if we’d been helped. Took another 10 minutes to get our drinks and our food ordered, with a 15 minute wait for our pimento cheese burgers to be brought to us. The food was amazing and worth the wait! However, the attitude of the servers working that area of the restaurant could have been better. Perhaps the current shortage of service industry personnel has affected Art’s Place as well, leaving the wait staff spread thin and feeling the strain. Even so, we would return again for the delicious burgers.
