My family and I seek out Capt'n Franks every time we come to the Outer Banks because their food is AMAZING. The one downfall is that the word has gotten out that they are the best hotdog place and it can get packed. The indoor seating area is very cozy so you will get to be good friends with the... More

The guy has a german sausage maker that makes his own recipe for his hot dogs. The staff was friendly and the owner even walks around talking to guests while waiting in line. There's nice outdoor seating but just make sure that it's not a windy day if you go up top. Also, make sure that if it's a hot... More

Hush puppies were delicious as well as chicken tenders and fries and pulled pork sandwich. Chicken salad was yummy too!

Finally stopped in last week. Love a good hot dog but found that while the menu had some awesome options, I was disappointed with a couple of things. 1. The hot dogs are Oscar Mayer. Really? I'd expect a higher quality dog such as Nathans, Hebrew National or Sabrett. 2. Ordered a Baja - perfect combination of taco and hot... More

This is a most stop on our OBX vacation! The service is fast but the staff members are very kind and always able to help. It's a great atmosphere with a lot of history! We do not come to OBX without stopping here! They have every kind of hotdog you can think! Highly suggested!!

Stopped in for a late lunch. They have some very unique toppings. We received our food quick and it was delicious. I really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of the restaurant.

We order the Mac & Cheese Dog; Bacon & Cheese Dog; Grilled Chicken Filet and Cheese Fries to go and the only thing we end up eating was the Chicken sandwich! The Mac & Cheese was dried out and the cheese on both the cheese fries and bacon & cheese dog had a strange taste. Also the fries where not... More

42 Years in business I heard the owner say as we ate away our lunch. Chili Cheese Coney and Chicken Salad Sandwich great. It's a tradition to visit when we return to the OBX. Recommend and hope you can try yourself. Good price and food..the basic burger fries hand of course hots dogs.

Had a fun lunch at Capt'n Franks. The Chicago Style, although different, was very good. For good food and a fun/relaxed atmosphere, this is a good stop.
