Husband and I have stopped here on 2 separate occasions as we start our vacation. It is easily accessible, as soon as you make the right turn into kitty hawk. We grab a quick hotdog here, to hold us til we have checked into our rental house. Quick hotdog key word here. We don't get 2 apiece, too $$ for... More

Fun flavors, friendly folks, fabulous frankfurters! They have an all-beef dog or a more traditional "snap" dog with the skin. From there the toppings are many and fun. My personal favorite is the Jamaican dog, sauteed in jerk seasoning and topped with mango salsa. Plenty of combos for the more less adventurous taste-buds, from homemade chili and cheese to plain... We have gone to Capt'n Franks the past 2 times we've visited Kitty Hawk. The hot dogs are standard, but yummy! We tried onion rings the last time we went and they were delicious. The atmosphere and neat and it's always packed!

Decided to stop for lunch for some hot dogs. We ordered the Chicago, Boston, and Bacon Cheese hot dogs. All of them were great! We loved the view from the top floor. Great atmosphere! Got to stop here for a dog!

Coming from Chicagoland, we love our hot dogs. The best restaurants around here use Vienna hot dogs, We were looking forward to going to Capt'n Franks because of all the reviews. There is a sign when you come in that mentions they use Oscar Mayer hot dogs (I don't even buy those at home), so I was a little surprised... More

My family and I seek out Capt'n Franks every time we come to the Outer Banks because their food is AMAZING. The one downfall is that the word has gotten out that they are the best hotdog place and it can get packed. The indoor seating area is very cozy so you will get to be good friends with the... More

The guy has a german sausage maker that makes his own recipe for his hot dogs. The staff was friendly and the owner even walks around talking to guests while waiting in line. There's nice outdoor seating but just make sure that it's not a windy day if you go up top. Also, make sure that if it's a hot... More

Hush puppies were delicious as well as chicken tenders and fries and pulled pork sandwich. Chicken salad was yummy too!
