Outstanding Mexican food. The chimichanga was perfect. Good margarita, great service. Awesome value. Very accommodating to the kids as well.

Worst experience in a Mexican restaurant ever. Food was terrible. Waiter was very nice but management was awful. As a authentic Mexican cook, I can tell you that the food was disgraceful. The margaritas are already pre mixed, and not freshly made. As for the...ambiance, The place is dirty and needs to be completely updated Save your time and money.More

Stopped at LA fogata for lunch. Waiter was excellent food that we ordered the burrito supreme taco salad supreme enchilada and something else was very good.. We're served hot and What's possibly one of the best burritos I have ever eaten it was really good....Place was clean, bathrooms were clean. Would eat here again if the opportunity presented itself.More

Absolute worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. The servers we experienced were fantastic, but while we waited to be seated we watched the manager of the restaurant punch a wall. Once seated, our very kind server took our drink order as we...watched the manager (again) storm into the the kitchen, slammed doors, broke something inside, came out and yelledat our kind waitress to clean up his mess. She was apologetic. I understand the high stress of being short staffed in the restaurant business but no workers belong in that kind of environment. We canceled our order after watching this unfold. We will not be recommending or supporting this business in the future.More

Typical Mexican dining experience. Food was made as ordered and hot when brought to our table. Server was polite but very inattentive overall. Restaurant was clean with appropriately spaced seating. Would recommend but most likely won't revisit.

My husband and I are new to the area and we are hoping to find our new favorite Mexican restaurant. I will agree with a lot of the other Reviews, the dish I selected was bland. The ground beef in my taco had absolutely no...flavor. I had to put the salsa the waitress gave us before our meal on top of it to give it a flavor, which by the way did have some heat. The Chile Relleno was also flavorless. My husband said his Enchilada meal was good. If we come back, I will try that. Our service was good and the waitress was prompt. Prices on the lunch menu were fair, especially for being on the island.More

So good.... we went twice! The first time we went we ordered beef tacos, nachos, and tamales! They were so amazing, we went back 3 days later. So tonight we ordered beef tacos, enchiladas, and Mexican rice. I would highly recommend this wonderful place. Everything...is fresh, and you can tell it is all hand made, nothing is store bought (meaning, you can tell they hand made it all). I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loved authentic Mexican food.More

Good food . . . had chicken chimichangas; great service . . . kept water continually filled without being asked; great value . . . very reasonable prices.

Food is authentic, service was garbage...even in the off season, which is astonishing. No refills on drink, salsa or regular waiter jobs. Had to walk check to register when other two tables had there waiter take theirs. Definetley not good service, even the manager was...sitting, laughing with one particular table instead of checking on other tables. Again good food, bit maybe think about take out and NO TIP.More

Going to La Fogata in Kitty Hawk is a tradition for most visitors who have been coming to the Outer Banks for years. They have been for over 20 years, and they keep serving affordable, yet satisfying and delicious Mexican Food as when they started....Family operated, and run by original owners. Their margaritas are super awesome, and my favorite dish is the Fajitas, without a doubt. Atmosphere is clean and mellow. Service very appropriate. They have also a great website, with an on line ordering link, that makes it easy to order and pick up. Fast, good, affordable, clean and family oriented.
