I really can’t give this place a review. As soon as we tried to walk in the door we were screamed at by some lady behind the counter to shut the door, we couldn’t as we couldn’t all fit into the very small space just...inside the door and it was a wait to be seated sign that was taking up the most space. She was so extremely rude that we just walked out.More

Went for a snack/appetizers on Saturday afternoon. I got a soft shell crab taco and my husband ordered the blue crab nachos. Both were delish and I’d definitely order the soft crab taco again! Fun, small, local place.

It's our own fault for coming back and hoping for a better experience. My husband loves oysters and we go to this place because of their deal on the raw oysters. However on this trip the oysters were small and not very tasty. My waffle...fries were undercooked. The hush puppies were pretty good and my ice tea was good. This will be our very LAST visit to this establishment. We have finally learned our lesson. Never Again.More

Terrible & UNFRIENDLY service. During Covid you wait to get in. But once you’re in you should not have to wait 15 minutes just to put an order in. Then the whole reason we came was for oysters and the order was never put in....No one wears masks as they walk around. The owner called us “you people“ Crab soup is like hot milk and the fried fish is very greasy.More

I want to personally apologize for your experience. It sounds like your wait and our mistake on the oysters spoiled the rest of the visit for you, and I am truly sorry about that. Our goal is always friendly, efficient service and it's clear we...More

Great GF options. The scallops were so tender and the stuffed mushrooms were to die for. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in Kitty Hawk.

this place is so good, I had to go back a second day while on my vacation. I loved them, they are not the normal heavier type of coating, just perfect and so fresh.

My husband and I spotted this place on the main road. We had the shrimp sandwich, catfish plate, sweet potato fries and Blue crab nachos. Our order was ready quickly... Fresh ingredients... the nachos which were actually wontons were perfectly light and crunchy! And they...did not skimp on the crab meat either! The brown sugar dip for the potato fries really set off the flavor! We will definitely make this a stop the next time we visit the OB.More

It's great to hear that you and your husband enjoyed your meal with us! Those nachos are a personal favorite of mine, and if you love the sweet fry sauce you should also try it with the hushpuppies. Yum! See you next time.

No nonsense, no frills, just darn good food and service here. The blue crabs were fresh and plentiful. The oysters were fresh and sizable. This is the place for real shell fish.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review for us. It's great to hear that you love our shellfish. Our owner catches the blue crabs himself so they come in fresh daily.

All I am going to say is that out of 7 nights staying in Kitty Hawk, we ordered from here 3 times!! Couldn't stay away! All very good, but the best were the hushpuppies and the crab nachos!

We ordered blue crabs and various tacos. All were fresh and delicious. The spice on the crab was awesome. The waitress showed us how to eat the crabs properly. And the local beer was delicious.

It just depends on how long the water stays warm enough for the crabs. We will catch and serve them until it gets too cold. Some years that’s Ddcember. Some years it’s late October.

There are picnic tables on the property where you could enjoy a takeout order with your furry friends. We do not provide waiter service to them. Non-seafood options are limited to sides and chicken tenders. Hope this helps!

Not a local, but Island Life NC provides a great chart - links are not allowed in answers but you’ll find it by Googling “seafood in season NC Island Life”
