My husband had the shrimp and scallops Napoleon and I had the special fish of the day. Both were beautifully seasoned and executed. He also had the crab bisque which I stole a few teaspoons of. Delightfully rich and full of flavor. The fried green...tomatoes were a special appetizer on the night we were there and did not disappoint. I wish I could remember the name of our knowledgeable server. She was pregnant at the time, and never missed a beat. We hope to return.More

Expected much better from reviews. Server was good. Food barely ok. Crab cakes overly breaded and deep fried ( really?) dark. Side vegs seemed to have sat on the plate for hours and were cold. Of our table of six, one entree was served at...least ten minutes later. Cute place but will not return.More

This was our first visit here but it will not be our last. The food was excellent (grilled shrimp and shrimp & Scallop Tropical) and came quickly. The vegetable medley with their home grown herbs was delicious. Our server Andrea was very personable and efficient....She was very knowledgeable about the menu. All the desserts looked wonderful but we both settled on the lemon mousse cake with blueberry compote which was very good. All in all a very pleasant evening in a beautiful setting with delicious food. This will now be in our regular dinner rotation while on vacation. Kudos to Andrea and all the staff.More

This time of year is great, not crowded, not hard to get a reservation. Best of all great food, we had the catch of the day and coconut shrimp.

We had been last to this restaurant over 15 years ago, and really liked it at that time. Last night we went with two friends, who were staying with us at our rented beach house in Kitty Hawk. Oh, that she crab bisque was exquisite!...Really, really delicious. And, we found that you really can get a perfectly cooked, tender, thick, and flavorful fillet at the beach! It was topped with jumbo lump crab, that was so delicious. Our wait person was really nice, efficient, and just all-around perfect.More

Went here for our anniversary dinner. Such a cute place in a house, great ambiance, beautiful outside as well. The food was one of the best meals we have ever had; the brie Appetizer and She Crab bisque, filet with lump crab and creme brule...were mouth watering! The service was 10/10. They even gave us a small bottle of champagne 🍾 for our anniversary! Loved it, so memorable!More

We often return to the Colington Cafe when at the outer banks. It’s reliably good food. Nice atmosphere with good service. The food is goid. Not outstanding. Slightly boring as it never seems to offer any really chef inspired food. You will leave satisfied but...not inspired.More

We were looking for a nice place to celebrate an adult birthday and this turned out to be an excellent choice. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. Everything was well prepared with great attention to detail. I appreciated that the mixed...vegetables and mashed potatoes were nicely done, even though they were not the “stars of the show.” No poorly cooked, overly large lumps of broccoli here! My shrimp and scallops were excellent. My companions had meals that’s included beef and reported that it too was excellent. The bacon wrapped scallop appetizer was done perfectly. Portion size was sensible and the focus is on quality rather than quantity. I rarely eat dessert but when the waitress brought the dessert tray to the table, I couldn’t resist. The price was quite reasonable - not really much more than nearby places that deliver a decent but significantly less refined dining experience.More

One of the best meals on the island! We were delightfully surprised by how wonderful experience we had at this hidden gem. From the initial phone call for reservations to the hugs goodbye, this place is definitely a keeper for future visits to the island....The beautiful hostess Angela is a favorite sister from a different mother. Her charm was addictive as we felt like treasured guests from the moment we walked into the door. Our delightful bright smiled guide for our meal, Brittany was the best! From the wonderful recommendations for wine to our main course to dessert, we were safe in her skillful hands. The salads were fresh and full of flavor. The Chicken and Shrimp Tarragon was a perfect combination. The Filet Dijon was tender and savory. We ended with some of the best desserts on the coast. Every part of this evening is memorable by the food and staff of this charmingly classic home. We are indebted to everyone that made this evening amazing. So much gratitude and we promise to return.More
