Was told this was a local favorite. I thought there was nothing special about it but it serves a decent breakfast.

Came in for an early lunch - glad we did because they stay busy. I know this is a local favorite, but honestly didn't find it exceedingly good - average food, typical menu, server couldn't get sweet vs. unsweet tea straight after multiple tries. Another...waitress had to ask us if we'd already eaten because we sat without food for quite a long time - she ended up going into the kitchen to get the food moving along. Not impressed, probably won't go back - but we can say "been there done that" and the continued parking lot of cars is probably an indication of long standing loyal customers - which is great - just not for us.More
The restaurant was busy but we were seated fairly quickly. It was clean and our server, Tina M was pleasant and took care of us. The food was good and came out quickly.
You can’t go wrong with Henry’s. Is it the fanciest? No. Is the best? You decide. Prices are fair and food is fresh and prepared with love and pride. Staff are friendly and attentive. If you’re into breakfast this is THE place but be prepared...for a packed house up until noon. Seafood menu is plentiful as are the plates. I’ve read some of the complainers reviews and honestly I don’t want to eat around those snobs anyway. Henry’s is solid, especially for families with young children. These folks have been on the island a long time…that’s gotta tell you something.More
Thank you so much. This review really means a lot to us. Have a wonderful day.
This was our first meal at OBX and it was perfect. The employees are so friendly, our server Lauren was so sweet. Everything we ordered was so good, hot and fresh. The surf and turf (prime rib and a soft shell crab) was the best....We also tried oysters, clams, and scallops, all cooked perfectly.More
A great breakfast! I had a nor’easter and it was basically more than I could eat. Very tasty, very huge. The restaurant itself is dated, but in good shape. It felt like it might have been a trip back in time to the 90s. There...were plenty of guests today. Our waitress was pleasant and nice. We really enjoyed our breakfast.More
This is not a kid friendly restaurant. Meals came out without sides, then we did not have appropriate utensils. There were shells in she crab soup. Very disappointing.
We both had fried oysters and they were as good as any we have had anywhere! Side salads were excellent too. Potato salad was on the sweet side and the fries were just ok, but the ambience of old family restaurant, great wait staff, and...plenty of iced tea was just the ticket. We will go back this week while we are in Kill Devil Hills. Highly recommended.More
We visited on Thursday evening. Was able to be seated immediately. I got the chicken breast with Swiss cheese, honey mustard sauce & mushrooms & my spouse got the steak cobb salad. Both were delicious & large portions. We had coconut cream pie for dessert...which was also very good. They have a small gift shop which you have to go through to pay. Good strategy, my husband commented. Lol!More
I had about 7 meals here the week I stayed at the Outer Banks. We will return. All the prices are reasonable and the same price structure you would pay at a diner at home. No high resort prices here. My wife's Fried scallops were...the best she had. Her Broiled Flounder was great, her creamed dried beef was great. The salads were excellent with homemade dressing. The mashed potatoes are real and not instant the beef gravy is full of flavor, and the hamburger steak tastes like steak as it was flavorful. The chef is excellent.More
Fabulous breakfast with our family of 5. Lots of choices for the kids too. Friendly service and although the place was full we didn’t wait long for our food.
The nicest folks checked me out, but I got a salad with salmon on top and the salmon wasn't cooked all the way through. I tried to microwave it, but that just ruined it. Maybe they were rushing my to-go order?? I won't be back.
My husband & I enjoyed a lunch date here. Angel was our server & she was excellent. I had the fried clams, delicious! Husband had the she crab soup & broiled scallops, also excellent. The homemade blue cheese dressing was better than anything from the...bottle. The restaurant was old school & very clean. Next time we’re in the area we will return!More
Second time eating here. First time for breakfast. I loved it when we ate here for lunch back in June. They did not disappoint. Friendly prompt service and delicious food. My husband and I had pancakes, cheese eggs and bacon for him, sausage for me....Everything was well prepared , delicious and reasonably priced.More
Love the down-home atmosphere. Great service. Owners who care about their brand and reputation. Awesome food. Fair prices. They are simply the best. Many thanks for all the great meals that I have had there.
