Visited many times in the past with good results! We haven’t been since they remodeled the restaurant and since the Covid shut down. By the way, remodel was great! Was so excited to have our anniversary dinner tonight!! My husband ordered the prime rib& it was spot on & delicious. I ordered the nightly special of salmon& filet! It was amazing! I have a big service complaint! Our waitress came by after we were seated for 15+ min to ask if we wanted a drink. She had a tray of dirty dishes w her. We said yes for a wine & cocktail. Brought by another wait staff quickly oh good. Next time she came by with a tray of dirty dishes, she said did we want to order. Yes, ok she went to take tray away & came back for order. Long story short, every time she came to ask us if we needed anything was with a tray of someone’s dirty tray of dishes!! Really! We are dealing with Covid 19 & we wore masks into your establishment & are asked to social distance 6 ft! She stands over our table each time she walks by to speak to us about food while holding others contaminated dishes. Why aren’t your wait staff wearing gloves to take away used dishes? How do I know their hands were being washed after that before bringing my food?? All in all our food was 5 star but service 2. Not what I should see anytime but especially now when we are still in COVID regulations

Hi and thank you for leaving this review! While I'm pleased that you enjoyed your meal, I'm as disturbed as you are about your service experience. It's absolutely unsightly. Servers are not trained to present other guests' used dishes to a table while addressing them. The server in question should have absolutely taken them back to the kitchen, washed hands per even basic sanitation protocols and then seen to your needs. I appreciate your having brought this teaching moment to my attention and it will be addressed immediately. We are absolutely practicing enhanced sanitation measures and this is not reflective of even our basic service standards, never mind our enhanced practices. For that I apologize. Thank you again for bringing it to our Attention! --Michael O.

Excellent experience

Stopped in for dinner with a buddy after driving 12 hours from up north. We were told the wait would be about an hour so decided to wait. After a couple of drinks in the bar area we were seated at a table. 50 minutes by the way. Kristen our server was great. She went over the specials, suggested some items, checked on us regularly and made the experience enjoyable. The food was top notch I had a steak, burgundy mushrooms and the pork belly beans. All were tremendous and my friends prime rib looked great. I have eaten in a lot of steakhouses and Outwest ranks up at the top. Worth the wait in my opinion. Too bad its a 12 hour drive! Next time through I will make a point of stopping though. Keep up the great work

Great place & Love the new layout

We see why it is the number 1 place in Kernersville. The staff is very accomidating as we come with a 6 month old grandchild and they went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for him, us and they surrounding tables. Super friendly staff that care about their jobs. They have a great menu but the Prime Rib was mouth watering and cooked perfect. The side of the stuffed tomatoes also are over the top. We have had nothing bad here. Try it !

Waste of time

Tried 2 times and will not try again. It takes a lot to make me post a bad review, but I feel it necessary. Stopped in on a Saturday night roughly 6:30 and was told 1hour and 20 mins wait time... okay I'll try and stick it out. 35 mins passed and not one person walked out paying but several people waiting had. When we neared an hour and only one couple waiting out of the many we decided to call it a night and go to J Peppers (fantastic food btw). Just stopped in on a Monday night (24th of February) there was no one waiting yet still a 15 min wait.... okay sure. 20 mins later ended up in the bar under first come first serve. Sat down and hostess brought over menus and silverware and a server/bartender walking by said "Hi guys", sadly this would be the last time we spoke to anyone. Sat for 20 mins and never even asked for our drinks and the server walked by us several times. I hope the food quality is better than it was before the remodel (it was pretty good, just not up to the price they charged) so eat or try at your own risk. I can tell you 2 great restaurants I found thanks to OutWest , JPeppers and Frida's!

Best part of the meal was the salad

I'm so disappointed. It was date night for us. We had been here before and had a great experience. Now, let me preface this with our server was great! I ordered lamb chops med rare. My husband the special.. filet and tiger shrimp. My lamb was over done and his steak under done, shrimp over done and mashed potatoes cold. We asked for it to be corrected... Then my lamb came out ok, but it looked like it was thrown on the plate and no sauce. Hubbies meal was better but took much longer. In addition... I was blinded by the setting sun and no blinds. We spoke to the manager who apologized and said she would make it right for next time. We were offered a free dessert that they charged for, then took off the bill, then did not deliver it. And a $25 gift card. Soooo unhappy. :(

Prime Rib Left Me Speechless

First time to Outwest Steakhouse. I have had prime rib all across the US and even in some other countries, and their 16 ounce cut was amazing! Thick yet tender. Cooked to perfection. The sides were excellent complements to the meat. We had the tomatoes stuffed with creamed spinach and side salads. Bread was warm and butter was sweet and soft. Because we shared a plate we had room for dessert and it did not disappoint as well. We had the chocolate bundt cake. The atmosphere was formal yet not so formal that it felt stuffy. Loved the oversized chairs and high ceilings. Lighting felt bright and cheerful instead of dark and too formal.

Don't waste your money. Go to anywhere but Outwest.

This was the worst steakhouse I've ever been to. The waiter was profusely sweating into our food, the rolls were not fresh, appeared to be made from frozen, hard as a rock. Steaks were expensive but very poor quality, sides were cold. Will not return to this establishment.

liked the caesar salad w/ salmon

remodeled, I enjoyed my caesar salad, ample portions, and the salmon was done right my server was friendly as my group was large and We sat at a long table. Thought we were getting in a room so conducting business was challenging. noticed the bar remodeling.

Great steak plus great seafood choices

We visited Outwest for the first time Wednesday after reviewing the menu online. Upon entering, we were met with the background hum of many happy voices engaging in lively conversations, always a good sign. The wife loves a great steak, and has been a little disappointed with the last few served her at popular steakhouses in Greensboro. She was not disappointed with the filet at Outwest. A beautiful cut was delivered medium rare, just as she requested (and she sometimes can be difficult to please with these things). I prefer seafood, and found the blackened grouper terrific. We look forward to sampling other items on the menu in the future. In these days of labor shortages, we found the service to be unexpectedly excellent (thank you Lilly for your attentiveness). All in all, it exceeded our expectations.

waiter never came but once to bring us food never came fill up drinks for other ppl that was with us.. never came to check on us and i didnt rember the name i left a small tip but he didnt deserve it .. he paid attention to the table beside us . we had to even go ask ppl at desk to get him come take our order we was sitting there 10 mins before we went ask for him come take our order ..

Prime Rib is the best around!

So glad they are back open and newly remodeled. We have been dining here for years and it’s one of our favorite restaurants, especially for prime rib. The stuffed tomatoes, Lamb lollipops, salmon, beef medallions, and salads are our favorites! I’ve heard the house made desserts are fantastic, but we have only tried the creme brûlée. Very good! If you haven’t dined here, please do. You’ll certainly be back again and again...

Great Food, Great Service at a Great Price

Excellent service by our waiter Chris. He presented all the specials, his recommendations and 1/2 price wine on Tuesdays. (By the glass). I had the onion soup and then filet skewers over rice with spinach stuffed tomatoes. My husband had the ribs. It was fabulous.

New opening successful

Our first time at this restaurant did not disappoint us. After extensive remolding they opened in Dec. The menu is extensive with a focus on steaks . Seafood dishes in our party were excellent . the bar area was packed so finding a seat was an issue but expected on a Friday night. Our only issue with the bar is most all of the seating were high tops and difficult for some older folks to sit. would go back anytime. .

Great Meal!!

Our server Blakely was OUTSTANDING!! Her recommendations were spot on. My husband got the 12 oz prime rib with the lump crab & mushroom add on. Served Med-Rare excellent. I got the lamb chops med-rare and the spinach salad , sub’ed out garlic lime vinaigrette over the bacon dressing … we ate on patio everything was excellent will definitely return. The entire staff was friendly and professional. Great value !!

Great steakhouse in Kernersville

First time visit to Kernersville, and this place stood out from list of restaurants. Parking lot crowded on a Monday night which is always a good sign. Bar served Stella draft which always makes me happy. Ambiance and decor were excellent. Server, Hannah I think, was extremely friendly and helpful for four of us who never ate there before. I was hesitant to order main course at same time as appetizer, but Hannah promised that our main order would not go in until we finished our appetizer. She was true to her word. All four of us were very happy with our food. Prime Rib was cooked to order (medium rare). Salads were excellent, as well as their Union Soup. Will always return here if I'm ever in this area again.
