The travel stop has free parking and is next to Interstate 95 at Truck Stop Road. This is a family style restaurant. I received adequate service and my chef's salad was good in spite of a foul up in the order.

I've been missing Iron Skillet since I moved to Virginia, so made it a point to stop at this one on the way home from a trip. It was every bit as good as I remembered. Immaculate clean, friendly and fast service, simply amazing gracious...and helpful staff. They don't have the buffet open due to COVID so you use a menu but the greatness is still there. Had the swiss-steak like meal with baked potato and side salad and it was just so good-- right amount of sides, not heavy on the salt, not a trace of grease, fresh looking greens (unlike two fancy places I've been to lately). Potato was squeaky clean and baked perfectly. The truck stop that it's in is a treat itself, with a military insignia supply store, souvenirs, truck item, and super-clean bathrooms. Other food attractions as well if someone in the family doesn't like Iron Skillet (and I can't ever see that happening). A full and delicious dinner was less than $20. Nice buzz inside, you could tell people were happy, and it has pictures of vintage trucks on the wall. Cool. This place is where John Wayne and Chuck Norris would eat if they lived close by.More

This place is amazing. I make it a point for our family to stop anytime we are close while traveling. My husband is a owner operator of his semi so we have eaten at several restaurants in our life time however this one is one...of my top favorites. The food is amazing. The flavor is out of this world. However the thing that brings me back overall is Ms. Cindy. She is amazing. From the 1st time we visited here she made us feel like family. Everytime we walk in she recognizes us and is just as happy to see us as we are to see her. The rest of the staff is just as friendly but Cindy is something special. We've made her the newest member of our family. Thank you Ms. Cindy for always making us feel welcome. We love you. See you again soon. Dave, Bella, & Maria XoxoMore

One of the worst versions of the iron skillet we’ve ever tried. We had read some surprisingly great reviews before stopping by, but were severely mislead. This is one of those places that’ll remind you that finding good food along the interstate is a thing...of the past. Salad bar was very limited, and the buffet didn’t look good at all. So, we went with the chicken parm, and that was a big mistake. Chicken wasn’t cooked correctly, and the sauce covering just made it rubbery. The pasta on the salad bar wasn’t consistent either. It Had chewy pieces mixed with some that were way past done. The salad bar’s veggies were warm as well. Ranch Dressing was as thin as water. If we could rate this place a zero, we would. But the service was really good. Our waitress made several stops to fill drinks, etc... So we left her a good tip. It’s not her fault the food is bad. I’m not sure what has happened to the iron skillets the past few years, but they’re no longer worth trying. I’m sure it has something to do with their merger with the TA travel plazas: as we all know, they had the worst food on the highways....If your looking for a good meal, keep on trucking...More

Nice buffet the pot roast was amazing, my mother said...the chicken pastry tasted like her mothers use to. The service was even better, nice to see service isnt gone after all. Not everyday do you see managers helping elderly people to the restrooms, in the middle of our meal I hear the gentlemen behind me say he needed help getting to the bathroom. Our server Mimi says just a minute sir let me go get my manager. Within two seconds Chris the manager was there and essorted him to the bathroom. We got into hotel late, and the Iron Skillet was across the street. We were tired and wanted to sit down to eat. If we knew the kind of meal we would be having we would have eaten at Wendy’s or Subway that shared the...building. We ordered Chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken. The waitress came back to tell us they were out of white gravy. My friend substituted brown gravy, I️ decided to change my order to the “special lick-in sauce” burger. It was questionably real beef, dry with horrible texture. I️ could only finish half. My friends chicken fried steak was probably made with the same meat, he also ate only half. The experience was awful. Visit Wendy’s instead!More
