I've eaten at the Village Diner in the past, I was not pleased with it. I decided to give it another try, same poor quality in the food and service. The food is salty, bland, and not fresh. Anyway, I'll give it a few years and I'll try them again to see if they got it together.

Bacon and eggs with home fires, biscuit and coffee. Wife had same. Very good portion of bacon and home fries. Price was great. Off the beaten track, you won't stumble across this place, you will looking to go there. Breakfast and lunch only. Worth trying.

The Village Diner is a Hillsborough fixture since the early 1970s. Ethel and Hammy were always there and they place could be counted on for consistency good Southern comfort food. Their daughter has continued the tradition and the diner offers great breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We had a delightful lunch from a country cooking buffet. The new manager is serving similar menu items with a new twist to the pricing. I was delighted. Still serving banana pudding and fried fatback. Salad bar is good. Staff are the same folks we have been knowing, they are friendly and helpful as always. We will be going back... More

Our Civitan Club in Hillsborough formerly met at The Village Dinner. The buffet was affectionately know as "A heart attack on a plate." VERY greasy and full of carbs. We discontinued meeting there because there was a "mandatory" tip for each meal. Jane H.

We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast here on our way home from Philadelphia, NJ, and NYC. The staff were very friendly and kind. The service was amazing and the food was incredibly good. We enjoyed our breakfast and the conversations we had while we ate. The hospitality was very welcoming. If we ever pass through Hillsborough again, we will definitely stop... More

We tried out this place after hearing about it from neighbors. It was our first and last trip. The place is FILTHY and the food is just OK. The fried chicken was good, but super greasy...the same for the hushpuppies. The potato salad was inedible and runny!! It also had a weird nutmeg flavor and was 50% sweet relish! The... More

Unless you like your food as salty as a gallon of salt water, so salty that it is uneatable, along with raw veggies in your omlette, and a building that should be condimned for being nasty and having mold infested bathrooms with water damage and cracking walls, stay away from this hell hole, Wait, mit should not be called a hell... This is real, old fashioned Southern food - nothing nouvelle about it. The fried chicken is the bomb and everything else is great. The veggies are well-cooked and the greens are definitely cooked with pork. We love to take a large crew. We've taken folks from France, Finland and all over the US - everybody loves it! There are few... More
