We came in around 2:30 on a Tuesday, not thinking it would be very busy, but it was pretty packed! The two of us still got seated in a couple minutes and overall service was really fast, much faster than expected for how busy it...was. We got the loaded tater tots as an appetizer and both got the rise and shine burger with fries. All the food was really incredible! The tater tots were the best tater tots I’ve ever had and the fries were equally amazing. The burger was also really good with the Ugly Dog Dip, which is made up of cream cheese, sausage, and tomatoes I believe is what our waitress told us. It worked really well with the burger. The ambiance is really neat, with pictures of dogs all over the walls. The server was kind and helpful while rushing around between tables and the bar. Overall a great experience with great food!More

Stopped in for lunch. We both had a chili cheese dog and had no issues at all. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal. Try the blue cheese coleslaw - pretty good stuff!

This was recommended to us by friends so we tried it. I thought it had limited pub food, but it is so different than expected. We liked it so much that we ate lunch there both full days we were in Highlands. The salads (with...grilled salmon on top) and sandwiches were really good, atmosphere nice and casual for after hiking and service very good.More

Love this little gem. Pizza was nice and the massive cookie dessert was something to write home about. Stop by and enjoy.

The hamburgers were good and that was the only thing good about this establishment. The place was packed. No social distancing and no mask being worn by staff or customers. The waitress we had was quite rude and totally unavailable . We had no refills...and when she brought things to the table she slammed them down on the table. Would not recommend.More

Spot on service! Best we have had in awhile. Enjoyed the burger with great fries. My wife had the salad which she enjoyed, too.

Seating is still separated for social distancing. The homemade chips are outstanding. The pimento cheese hot dog was delicious, as was the chicken sandwich. Good service. Do to spacing you may have to wait for a table. Not too long though.

We've made our way through the list of the well-known Highlands restaurants, but each time that we come from now on, we plan to skip some of those and just head back to the Ugly Dog. The food is tasty and there is a nice...selection of drinks. This time I opted for a really good cocktail and my husband stuck with beer. Flatbreads are a perfect size for one person who eats moderate portions. If you are a big eater, you might want an appetizer. We lucked into a seat with no wait on a Wed evening around 7pm, but I'd plan ahead if you are going on a weekend- go early or expect a wait!More

North Carolina only allows service dogs in restaurants, but we do have a small out door area that you can sit with your dog if you would like to get your meal to go. Thank you so much, Kay
