A landmark on Main Street where families have taken generations of kids for treats. Amazing number of options and tastes. Friendly, family owned and efficiently run. When standing in front of the counter, we feels like kids again!

Hands down the best bakery in the south. Been going here for over 50 years. The apple fritter and lime cookies are exceptional.

It's a great place for a sweet dessert. Pumpkin is my go to in the Fall and I had the pumpkin square that was one of the best I have ever had. It was busy but the lady taking my order did not act like...she wanted to be there which was the only dampening moment of the experience. Other than that, this is the place for dessert!.More

One of the highlights of our trip to Hendersonville was visiting this good ole' fashioned bakery! The quality of the baked goods was exceptional! My father was a Baker ... and this reminded me of the Bakery he worked in. HIGHLY RECOMMEND you stop by!...Wish I lived closer ... I would be a regular customer there!More

We have only been to Hendersonville only twice and on this second trip back, I had been dreaming of trying the AMAZING cheese danish again from this fabulous bakery. The hard workers here are just wonderful, so kind and patient as we gawked at the...abundance of baked delights. Absolutely EVERYTHING looks delicious!More

Everything was fresh baked and so much to choose from. Great pastrys, cookies, brownies, cupcakes and even regular cakes ready to buy. Also great prices!

You are better off going to any of the Ingles Supermarkets bake shops. The sourdough bread tastes like off the shelf white bread that you can get anywhere. The only reason they are still in business is because they are on Main Street and the...tourists like to stop in for a snack. If someone was to open a real old fashioned Italian bakery downtown, McFarlan's would be out of business in a couple of weeks.More

Recent trip to my husband's hometown; and he talked a lot about 'having' to go to McFarlan's. The bakery is obviously very popular as there were quite a number of people ordering things-- even with the present COVID situation. Everything looked and smelled delicious! There...was a vast variety. We ordered a variety of treats. I ate a couple of things when we returned to the car. They were very good. My husband was sneaky when we got home. He took the bag of goodies and I didn't get a chance to try anything else. I recommend a trip to the bakery when in the area.More
