Three of us had breakfast here on Saturday morning. We beat the crowd by a bit so our wait for a table wasn’t very long. We had pancakes, an omelette and corned beef hash. We love Sonny’s! It’s a must to go here every time we stay in Frisco. Awesome food and service! We have had breakfast and dinner and both were great. And they have these adorable home made gnomes for sale /donation. ❤️❤️

Really good breakfast and lunch food. I had the Hatteras bowl with a side of sausage gravy. Amazing. Service was great too. Then went to the beach for a nap.

Go early if you can, as they fill up spots pretty quickly, but the staff was friendly and quick. There is a Wing’s next door to pass time if needed, but the food was delicious.

We always have breakfast at Sonny’s when we’re in Hatteras. The food is excellent, however, one of the servers is incredibly rude and will ruin your meal. She knows who she is. When you hate your job, you should work somewhere else and keep your...attitude to yourself. The other servers have been courteous.More

Ate lunch here last year and enjoyed it so much we knew we would return this year. Yesterday our party of three stopped in for lunch and we were mostly pleased. My cousin ordered oysters for $19 and kept raving about how delicious they were....My husband ordered fried shrimp for $17 and they were perfect----oh, so lightly breaded and tasted so fresh. My two crab cakes were $20 okay, but I thought they tasted more "fishy" than I like, but still okay and not full of breading. Their fresh seafood comes from across the street and she recommended it to us when we buy fresh seafood to prepare at our condo. Locals eat here so you know it is good! (One thing we don't like? They do not put a couple hush puppies on your plate with a meal. You have to order a basket of 12 in order to get a "puppy"). Drinks are $2.25 each.More

Seemed liked a basic restaurant from menu and appearance. What surprised us was how friendly the staff was and the quality of food. Loved that fried items were lightly fried and not heavy in grease. Crab cakes were my favorite. Worth a visit or two!

Unfortunately, Sonny's was only offering take out due to the time of the year and labor issues. Fortunately, the shrimp dinners were delicious and plentiful, with a light cornmeal coating, and 14 shrimp. House salad was lacking in ingredients. We'd order again.

This is a plain, little local restaurant where mostly locals eat, along with those waiting for the ferry to Ocracoke. The prices were moderate and they had a few soups, salads, sandwiches and platters on the menu. Nothing unusual or different on the menu. I...ordered a salad with grilled chicken. It consisted of iceberg and Romaine lettuce, 1 slice of tomato, 2 slices of cucumber, grated carrots and cheese, with a small grilled chicken breast on top. All ingredients were fresh. Tasted good- nothing fancy. My husband ordered the Pulled Pork Platter with applesauce. It came with a large pile of pulled pork, and bar b cue sauce on the side. He thought he was getting a sandwich, but no bread was included. He enjoyed it though. We were hungry, couldn't get on the ferry to Ocracoke (3 hour wait) and had to drive back to Nags Head, so it filled the bill for a place to eat and be served fairly quickly.More

Our party of four were to have a 30 minute wait, but ended up only 15 minutes! The parking lot was full, so we had high hopes. My husband's mahi mahi was the fish of the day and he said it was delicious, just small...pieces. One of our party ordered the fried oysters and said they were delicious. I ordered the two crab cakes; while not large, they were void of cracker/bread crumbs and DELICIOUS ! The fourth party member ordered fried clam strips, which is the rating of 4 stars instead of 5 stars. They looked over fried and she said they were and tasted like they had been fried in old oil. I told her she should ask for another order, but she did not want to. The hush puppies were DELICIOUS in my opinion. My husband said they were "too sweet", but that is how I like them! Three out of our four party loved them! The sweet tea was also perfect southern sweet tea. There were only a couple of servers that I saw, but they were doing the best they could and very accomodating and friendly. We would DEFINITELY return here next time in Hatteras! Prices were VERY BUDGET FRIENDLY TOO.More
