Excellent fresh and authentic Mexican food. Tamales on the weekend were light and amazing. This roadside cafe with homestyle atmosphere delivers great food at reasonable prices. Will return again time to try other dishes.

As always, I tried the daily special, which was stewed chicken, which proved to be mild, moist, and delicious. Husband had his standby, a beef burrito, which proved to be far more food than he could eat. Very nice people run this restaurant. My only regret is not going on a weekend because that's when they serve tamales.

So very glad that this place seems to be thriving - the answer to a dream for a misplaced Texas! Freshly made tamales on the weekend, as well as pozole! Great traditional, authentic Mexican food - you will run into a great mix of diverse people! Take out or eat in - cheap and satisfying!

If you are looking for your typical Mexican restaurant where you can have a margarita and fill up on salsa and chips then this is not the place for you. If you want traditional Mexican food then you should visit El Azador. The rice was the best I have ever had and the corn tortillas tasted like they had been... More

Disregard the idiot who rated this place poor because the folks at Azador don't speak English. This place is a gem downtown. Great tacos al pastor and chivo. Prices very fair. The only authentic Mexican in gville.

Very flavorful cuisine. Don't miss the huaraches; the combination of flavor and texture is sublime. Be sure to get the fried egg on top. They are huge though, so either split one or better yet, bring a friend! The chile rubbed, spit roasted chicken is fantastic. Location is a little sketchy but the owners are really nice.

Don't dine here unless you speak Spanish. Only one lady knew a couple of words in English. We ordereded chicken quesadilla's and they were terrible. It consisted of a thick dough that tasted like the cornbread I fry at home. ( should have served up some collard greens with it). It was filled with a small amount of chicken and... More

The food is authentic and all ingrediants are fresh. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the owner grills whole chickens. The flavor is wonderful. The prices are very reasonable.

I have been to Mexico many times. I have been to some of the highest rated Mexican restaurants in the US in New York, LA, Chicago AND....all of this is to say, in our own little town of Greenville, we have THE BEST! El Azador is FANTASTIC! Just trust me, order a Huarache and you will find out for yourself.... More

This little dive is always with the drive. It's a foodie's delight. The smoke from the smoke house will draw you in. Portions are large and flavorful. Definitely a place to take a food lover.
