I'm not a fried chicken kinda person, but when I want fried chicken, I'll take Shrimp Boat every time over any other chicken restaurant. The shrimp and fish are also excellent. Great value for great food.

Usually eat here at least once a month. I switch between the fried chicken (very good) and the fried chicken livers.A little pricey for lunch but that doesn't deter me eating here. Always good service and attitude of the staff. I have tried the shrimp and oysters which are very good also.

I've been eating here since I was a boy in the 1970's. Everything I've ever eaten here has been awesome. The seafood, chicken, and sides; you just can't go wrong. My mainstay is the livers dinner. So, so good. Their breading is perfect, just enough to give it a great flavor. Big portions. Great value. The prices are good and... More

At lunch time this place hops ! Stop in occasionally for chicken livers. The best in town. Friendly staff and service is fairly quick even when they are busy. Variety of items including seafood. It is a little pricy. For 2 people, it isn't hard to spend $20+. Nice size dining area that is always clean. Food is always good and... More

This is a great local owned restaurant. They have the best chicken plates! The girls are very nice. Eat here every week!

We have to have our Shrimp Boat fix every couple of weeks. It is one of the best restaurants in Gastonia. If you're a local, this is one place you're likely to walk in and see your friends, family, and acquaintances at any given time. I don't really like hushpuppies, but this is the only place I'll eat them from.... More

My husband got a chuckwagon and fries, I got a fish sandwich and fried mushrooms (paid for ranch didn't get)$17.00 total! No drinks! Fish needs some salt or seasoning but was good. Chuckwagon was large. The fries are good. Fried mushrooms would have been good with the ranch I didn't get.... Maybe I would recommend trying the chicken everyone raves... More

We visited on a Friday evening between 7:30-8:00 pm. I had read a review about how great the food was especially the fried chicken, which is what we had. The chicken tasted like it was fried in old grease and was not piping hot. We received our chicken in less than 10 minutes which leads me to believe it had... More

On our way to Charlotte my husband had a hankering for fried chicken (which I don't make at home) so I searched online and this place popped up first with some good reviews. Since they weren't too far off the freeway we decided to try it. My husband LOVED the fried chicken, I loved the fried shrimp and son loved... More
