This place has a long tradition that goes back to a time when people were not familiar with authentic BBQ in this former textile town. Their greatest claim to fame is the BBQ slaw/relish they top the pork sandwiches with . The meat is tasteless and bland. It has the consistency of being boiled and sliced thin. They do put... More

My family and I stopped here to try NC barbeque and did not eat due to a limited menu and disgusting bathroom. There was a sink in the main room where you are waiting to order your food. There was not a welcoming barbeque smell, but rather a fired oil smell. We left soon after arriving and will not be... More

Wife and I made a quick stop here for take out. Went in and ordered two barbecue sandwiches. I ordered mine with slaw. We got the mince barbecue. Anyway while sitting outside in the truck fellow walks out to my truck to take order. Live and learn. She walked out and we started down 321. Got the food out of... More

Blacks BBQ has been one of our favorites for many years & never disappoints. The service is fast & good & the food is awesome & always good. My wife & I are fans of the BBQ sandwich & fries but the onion rings are also delicious.

Being in town always requires a stop at this local BBQ joint. Different than the NC vinegar style as this place mixes their bbq sauce with their slaw and then it is put on a sandwich with either minced or sliced meat. Both are great but I prefer the sliced style. These sandwiches are absolutely delicious, either own their own... More

Black's is great! It's not amazing, but it's good BBQ. The slaw makes the sandwich and is a good dip for your fries. Black's is a must go in Gastonia.

sitting here at my computer in Myrtle Beach, SC eating a Black's sliced BBQ sandwich just delivered by my aunt and uncle on their return trip from Gastonia. Even a few hours old it brings back memories of my childhood and Black's great BBQ sandwichs, a family favorite for 3 generations
