We stopped in because of staying in the area. I choose home cooked restaurants when I am traveling. This was a clean and friendly atmosphere. Food was fine.

I like to find "hole in the wall" places, where the locals go, that usually have great food. Here's my experience at the Sunset Restaurant. We found out about this place from a lady at the Visitors Center. She said that this is where the locals go to eat and that the pie was fantastic. When we got there we... More

This place has been around since 1945 so it's got to have something going for it to last that long. It's cash or check only, no credit cards. It's located about a mile from the center of Franklin and has plenty of parking. They even offer a drive up take out service where a waitress comes out to your car... More

We stopped here after some gem mining. Food was cheap and good. Desserts were the highlight of the meal. We tried coconut pie, lemon pie, egg custard, and pecan. All were excellent! Make sure to save room for dessert. For family of 4 with dessert out meal was 35 dollars! Cheapest meal all trip!

While on a recent road trip, we came here for breakfast at the advice of a friend and I am so glad we did! We got there seconds before they stopped serving breakfast, hadn't realized it and would certainly have been fine with ordering lunch instead but, they graciously offered to let us order anyway and then extended the time... We have been having breakfast at this restaurant since 1983. They serve many types of food but our favorite is the breakfast

We were at the local ruby mining spot with our grandson, and this restaurant was recommended for the home cooking and fresh homemade pies. The decor was definitely country style. The food was very good and tasty. Salad for our vegetarian, meatloaf dinner was good as well as the $3 hamburger. But, the home made peach pie was the BEST!

Nice basic place where locals go. Basic southern breakfast menu. I had eggs, bacon, grits and biscuits and all were good. Nothing super special, but just a solid spot.

My wife and I come here often. Nothing fancy so don't go expecting it. However, they do have country style meals in a diner like atmosphere. As a real estate broker, my clients like to know where the locals like to eat. This is where the locals go. Good food and great prices. And, if the banana pudding is out,... More
