We brought our group of four plus a youngster to Copper Penny on a busy Saturday for lunch. The restaurant has a unique decor highlighted by thousands of pennies inset into a huge bar, plus various bits of trim and artwork throughout the dining areas. The environment is casual and can be noisy. The menu is extensive, with lots of choices among burgers and specialty sandwiches a highlight. We enjoyed our choices, all were flavorful, the sides tasty and generous, and prices very reasonable. A full bar is available and Coke products are served. Our only issue during our visit was the extended time to be served and receive our food. Luckily we were under no time constraints but our visit easily took thirty minutes longer than would be expected. All things considered, the impressive menu, decor, friendly service and good prices combine with great food to make Copper Penny a top choice in Forest City and Rutherford County. Just...take your time.

This restaurant is in a great setting in the downtown of Forest City. People in my party had steak and chicken dishes. All of the food was very good. The prices were less than a chain restaurant like Fatz or comparable restaurants in the area. Would definitely do again. When you get done, walk to the Pie Safe bakery and buy some pie or cake for dessert.

I have had several business lunches here. And many for pleasure. The atmosphere has always been plesant. Decor of pennies is tasteful. It adds a particular flair to stand out and create its own place to be remembered. Staff was helpful. Our server came around often in ensure our drinks were filled. It did take a bit of time before our appetizer arrived. Then our meal followed cloae behind. So not much time to enjoy the app. This day we ordered an appetizer of spinach dip with chips and pita. Creamy and delicious. I had the Cowboy burger with fries. Burger was cooked properly. Sause and bacon gave it a good smoky flavor. Fries tasted good, much better than any fast food.

I visited with my wife and my 8 year old. I had the "Big Penny" a ribeye steak,my wife had the parmesan chicken and my son had the chicken fingers. My steak was unevenly cooked and had the texture of mush. My wife's was over cooked. My son's chicken was rubbery and I have no doubt that his macaroni was the microwave type that you can buy at the grocery store. Our total cost for the meal was $58.00 and that's without ordering drinks. We will never visit this restaurant again and I will not recommend the Copper Penny to anyone.

Good food and service. Like most places the lack of workers slows everything down so service and food delivery suffers. We ate there twice and my first visit was not that great. I wanted some wings and the initial order was rubbery and borderline temp for being cooked to a safe temp. They redid the order and instead of cooking fresh wings the recooked the original. Just not the best experience. The food the other person had in my party was good. Second visit was with a bigger group a little earlier in the day. The food was good again and the entire party of 5 enjoyed their meals. Service was a little better, but again it was at the beginning of the supper hour so not that busy.

Everything else in Forest City is a chain or has "Fat" in the name. We were there to ride our bikes on the newly opened rail trail. This restaurant is not far off the trail on a beautifully landscaped Main St. (worth an after dinner walk). She had the planked salmon; I had the Chef Special (salmon and shrimp that night). Beer selection was good. I think she had a beer which means the wine selection wasn't. We were in town the following night. I had the Mahi mahi tacos and she had a very large salad she couldn't finish; only drawback was that it had iceberg but so many other greens and goodies it didn't matter. Service good, at bar first night, table next. Waitresses wore masks inside, not out. We're geezers so we ate in.

Let me start by saying the food is great. The service how ever could use some work. Let me explain. The waitresses are good. But we stood around for 30 minutes watching people leave an tables not getting cleaned off fast enough an people still trying to get a table ! It’s like a circus in there ! An it’s not a big place ! This is just my thoughts on it but if the table are not cleaned off fast enough an people standing around an more coming in your losing money ! I saw people leave because of the wait times ! An one more thing I saw people just sitting there after they were done eating. If your done an you see that others want to eat be respectful an leave. To me it’s very rude to just sit there when you know others are waiting to eat !

The food was delicious and the atmosphere would’ve been perfect if only anyone were wearing masks. They have signs out front reminding people to social distance and wear masks but no one inside did so - all of the staff had a gaiter around their necks like an accessory rather than a life saving tool. I think it would’ve been great in a pre or post-pandemic world, and I understand why they have such great reviews, but you should be aware of the lack of COVID responsibility inside.

This was our first visit to the Copper Penny, but it definitely won't be our last. The food was incredible. Everything we tried, we liked. The portion of fried mushrooms was surprisingly large and they were very tasty. I would definitely recommend stopping by and eating here.

We had to wait for over an hour before we could be seated. The Copper Penny in Forest City no longer accepts reservations. Luckily it was not fridgit outside since there is no waiting area inside unless you can find a spot at the bar. Once seated our server did an excellent job taking care of our drink and food order. The menu has a very good variety to satisfy everyone's taste. We all ordered different items and everyone was happy with gheir choice. Considering how busy the restaurant was, service was speedy and efficient. Everything we received was exactly what we ordered. We will be back to try more menu items.

The Copper Penny is situated on Main Street in the heart of quaint Forest City. There is plenty of on-street parking plus we didn't have a reservation for lunch. By 12:30 or so it was pretty busy but the inside is pretty large so no one was having to wait for a table. The menu is surprisingly long with a huge hamburger section and my eye was drawn to several good looking pasta options. I ended up with the chef's salad which was very good, crisp, and tasty. They had some good looking draft beer options though I had iced tea. I would describe the food offerings as "American". I like the vibe of the place. Cozy. Small town for sure. Excellent food choices where I can see you could come over and over and try a wide variety of dishes. Our service was excellent. I'll be back!

The homemade chips were good. We had the queso dip that was just OK, but they served it with potato chips instead of tortilla chips. My black bean burger was good but my wife's pasta was awful. Absolutely no flavor. Will not go back.

On a Thursday night in November it was a wait time of 30 minutes to be seated. That tells you the locals like it. So did we. Prices were more than reasonable. Service was very good and the food was also very good. Would definitely recommend it.

We were a party of 8 for lunch. Fried mushrooms were horrible, no flavor in batter and mushrooms very rubbery. Philly steak was very tough, turkey/apple panini tasteless, quesadilla was cold. Out of 8 meals only one was commendable. Server was less than welcoming and didn't appear to be thrilled to be there. Considering the lack of staffing everyone we were understanding of the slow service but not happy with quality.

This is a local spot and our second visit here after randomly finding Copper Penny last year. It is located on E Main Street which is pretty busy and only on-street parking is available. We arrived around 5pm so it wasn't too crowded and were immediately seated in a booth. The menu offers a variety of items including vegetarian options. We started with the Spinach Dip with a mix of pita and nacho chips. They also offer a kids menu and the fries were a hit. The black bean burger was good as well as the cajun chicken pasta which was spicy and filling. Our server was fine and checked in on us periodically. When we left it was considerably busy and outdoor seating was almost full (it was a gorgeous day).
